Sharing collections not working / not working as before?
Posted: Monday, January 28, 2019 6:22:49 PM
When sharing a collection to pinterest from the collection page itself, currently only one product image is being pulled up/shown, and it's really low-rez/bitmap looking.

When trying the share collection via link, it's pulling the usual 5-box collection preview, but also really low-rez looking.

Incidentally, there is at least one third-party collection preview tool that's also not currently able to pull images from a collection link.

I saw the other recent posts about collection/preview images but this particular type of issue didn't seem to be mentioned so wanted to pass along.

Thanks!

Hey PaperGrapeSmile

Would you be able to get a screenshot of this so we can check into it?

The low-rez issue is more noticeable on the round sticker type products:

And here is a preview of what happened after I was on a collection page, then clicked the share button on the right under the collection banner image. Only one product is loading and previewing in the pinterest window. Also it is taking a bit longer than what I believe was happening before.

I have the same problem at sharing collections to Pinterest - only the first item in the collection appears in the shared image. At first I had it with just one collection (the others shared normally), now it seems it happens to all of them.

Thanks for following up with images! Smile

The reason these images are showing up in a lower resolution is to do with previous issues where work was Being reported as stolen. As a result we had to limit the size of the images we share. If we shared a higher res image, it would need to be watermarked. Based on the type of issues we were getting we decided to go with the former option.

Ok thanks David, that part makes sense.

Still when I try to use the share link to post to pinterest - only the first item in the collection appears in the pin preview (whereas before it showed that neat grid?)

Thanks!

What about this?

Before collections show'd 5 images, showing that is was a collection. Now only one image shows.

If this is answered somewhere else, please direct me. This is what came up as in the forum search.

This was asked by the OP but should it be pulled out into a new question?

There are things going on with Pinterest that we're looking into right now. Hopefully we will have more soon.
