No for sale button option on some products
Posted: Tuesday, October 09, 2018 10:55:52 AM
I have created an number of items and no for sale button appears. I am logged in and it only occurs with some items. I've attached two examples without the sale button and one with (t shirt). I'm on chrome but it occurs on safari too.Puzzled
Thanks Cath

Hi Scot,

The problem doesn't seem to exist when I create products from your link. I couldn't find the chiffon scarf on the site, to check if it would have a sell button but the hard plastic coasters and keychains are fine on this link, they all have the sell button.
Strange, as it's still a problem for creating these items in my shop
Thanks for looking into this

You can find the Chiffon scarves here:

I tried making the new balloons and no "sell it" appears although I tried adjust the size several time thinking that was the problem. I keep getting "Add to cart" instead of "sell it".

What Scott and James said.

I have to admit, though, that this was pretty confounding, and dare I say a little frustrating, when I found certain items that couldn't be put up for sale. Personally, the hint was in the category; if I click on a blank item and the name above the item's name reads "Weddings", then I know it can't be put up for sale. Perhaps the trick is to search for your desired item via this page, because otherwise if you search for a blank item in any other way you're going to run into items that are categorized as "Weddings".

Nonetheless, there are some items on Zazzle that actually cannot be sold by us....like, say, suspenders, and some of those leather belts. They can be customized, but they just can't be put up for sale by anyone other than the maker(s). Though, I think I'm already saying what everybody already knows at this rate. It could be worse, though; I thought there were more items than I thought that couldn't be put up for sale anymore, but that was my whole "Weddings" debacle.

Yep. To summarize:

always start from www.zazzle.com/create
or
always start from the "Create Your Own" link in the header. It's in blue, and off to the left of the page right next to the blue Zazzle logo.

Some of the more experienced Zazzle designers have chosen to bookmark this store: www.zazzle.com/zazzleblanks as it's the "store" that contains all of the CYO products for designers. The newest products added to the site can usually be found if you sort by Newest.

I'm going to sticky this thread to the top of the page, but leave it unlocked in case anyone has related questions.

I ran into the same trouble with the socks several days ago. I figured it was just a system hiccup, and moved on to doing other things. I had created them from the zazzle.com/create link, so no idea why it was an issue.

Thank you so much Scott and James for clearing this up for us. I have a much better understanding of how this works and how I can avoid this problem reoccurring

A lot of times I use a card or what ever I already made and just change the background, tags and text. I have always been able to post for sale doing it this way. Has this changed and no longer allowed?

They can't be posted for sale yet. Can only be designed for purchase. Read this: https://forum.zazzle.com/news/relaunching_custom_postage

I have had this problem with the sell button not showing up on my products for the last several days. I have tried the various suggestions to no avail. I’m just about ready to toss Zazzle
