Topic: How to Transfer a Design from a ‘Discontinued’ Product
Finbarr Posted: Thursday, March 15, 2018 3:53:29 AM
Hi Designers,

Many of you have asked for the ability to delete products that are ‘Discontinued.’* Not only will you be able to do this going forward, you’ll also be able to transfer your designs from those discontinued items to products that are in stock.

How to Transfer a Design from a ‘Discontinued’ Product:

Filter and find any discontinued items by going to your store’s ‘Products’ tab and click on the ‘Statistics’ arrow so that it opens up a push-down menu where you can sort using the ‘Discontinued’ radio button.

While still on your store’s product tab, go to ‘Actions’ pulldown menu under the discontinued product and select ‘Transfer this design.’ From there, you can choose from a variety of blank products to switch that design to.

If you need to tweak the placement or size of the design on the new product, click the ‘Customize’ button to modify it within the design tool.

Please note the following:

• Only one design can be transferred at a time.

• In the case where a Product Option is discontinued, select ‘Edit’ within the ‘Actions’ pulldown menu. This will allow you to easily make changes to in-stock product options within the ‘Product Merchandising’ tab.

• When an entire Product Line is discontinued, no further edits can be made to the product. The only options available are to transfer the design to an available product or delete the product.

*How is ‘Discontinued’ defined?

There are two different ways something can be discontinued:

(1) A product line can be discontinued which means that a certain product made by a particular manufacturer has been removed from the Zazzle marketplace (e.g. Product Line: OtterBox Defender Series for iPhone 5).

(2) A product option can be discontinued; this means that a variation of a product is no longer available within the larger product line (e.g. Product Option: Color – Fuchsia is no longer available with the Product Line Pexagon Water Bottle, Size 24 ounce). When either a product line or a product option is discontinued, it is ‘hidden’ within the marketplace.

Topic: Important update to referral payments
Finbarr Posted: Thursday, October 12, 2017 8:30:51 AM
Update: Starting October 10th, 2017, Connecticut, New Jersey, and North Carolina will not be included in the restricted referral payment state list, and will be paid referrals on sales shipped to addresses within their own states.

Q&A

When does the change for Connecticut, New Jersey, and North Carolina go into effect?

This change goes into effect on October 10th, 2017.

Which states will still be restricted and will not be paid referrals on orders within the same state (collectively, “restricted states”)?

Illinois
Michigan
Missouri
Pennsylvania
Vermont
Ohio

Am I still allowed to participate in the Associates program if I am from one of the restricted states?

Yes. If you are a resident of one of the restricted states (as designated by your payment address), then you may continue to participate in the Zazzle Associates program, but you will not be paid on referrals within your state.

Will there be any changes in the future?

Zazzle is monitoring state legislation in all 50 states and may make updates in the future based on passed or pending legislation that impacts Zazzle.

How does this work if I am a resident of the restricted states?

If you use your referral code to refer a sale that is within your state based on shipping address for that order, then you will not receive a referral payment. For example, if your payment address is in Illinois, and you refer a sale with a shipping address that is also in Illinois, then you will not receive a referral payment. Referral payments for sales that ship to addresses outside your state are not affected.

Topic: Update on Your 'Power Tags'
Finbarr Posted: Wednesday, March 29, 2017 4:06:13 AM
We have news to share with you regarding how we help shoppers find your products. After careful consideration, we will be reducing the number of tags allowed for each product from 40 down to 10 on Tuesday, April 4th.

As Google and other search engines continue to evolve, we observe and adjust accordingly so that we are aligned with them. Focusing solely on the most valuable tags, your current "power tags," will directly improve Zazzle’s Search Engine Optimization (SEO). This helps your products and all things “Zazzle” surface higher in search results so that more people can see them.

We will be taking care of hiding and removing any existing tags you’ve added beyond your first 10 power tags on every product. No editing required on your part; you will simply see the changes reflected next Tuesday. (If any of you feel like you haven’t positioned your best tags in your top 10, this should leave you enough time to update them.)

Thanks again for your understanding as we continue to make changes that improve the Zazzle experience.
