I received an email from Fine Art America this week stating they are now allowing for order processing to on one's own domain (using an iframe). I had suggested Zazzle consider this a few months ago. I think it would help our domains get ranked higher in Google because Google would view us less as "thin content affiliates" that just funnel people to Zazzle.
What does everyone think? Something to consider. Did anyone else receive this email?

If using this technology will increase the flow of customers and ease customers buying experience...I'm for this.

Yeah, I just joined there and saw the shopping cart widget that you can install on your own site and it gave me incentive to upgrade to a premium account as a birthday gift to myself since it is only available to premium account holders, but I really want that shopping cart page on my website!

I'm considering building a site for this. The SEO implications are important, but even more than that (to me) is the affiliate situation here. I know my sites are getting traffic, and I'm not seeing any results which come even close to matching the traffic. If linkovers are accurate, then they're not clicking into Zazzle as often as I'd like; if linkovers aren't accurate, they may be clicking, and I'm not getting the Referrals.
Time to try something new, I think.

Just so those who use WP sites for their businesses, the FAA iframe will not work on them. FAA also enables integration with Shopify stores as well. I've just left FAA after 8 years. Unless you have a marketable niche the the OP, it is very difficult to sell from their MP. If you have a lot of traffic going to your site you may have better luck. FAA owns Pixels and they do have different makers than RB and Z. But sales were far harder to garner there than from here and RB. Also Pixels is a ghost site of FAA so you won't find your Pixel items on google unless it is from your sites. Best of luck to you all.

Those sites are akin to, say, Blogger or one of the other blogging sites. A website which uses the WP platform (aka WP.org) should work just fine. These sites are independent of the WP organization, and simply use WP as a content management system.

This sounds great, and if it helps get Zazzle and Zazzle affiliates ranked higher it would be nice if Zazzle considers it. I know I'd love to have my own shop full of my products on my website. Would this go as far to allow affiliate shops to be included in the "google shopping" function of google search too (because it would be their own website shop)?
If people are processing the orders on their websites however, how would customization work?

If you know a trick I would love to know it too.

Off the top of my head, Google maps uses iFrames, and I embed them all the time.
Maybe your theme doesn't support them. Have you tried an iFrame plugin?

Ah, sorry to hear you left, I just followed you the other day, I guess they didn't know you were gone yet? anyway I am going to give it a try... it can't do any worse than my RB...

There is a sort of way to seem like you do already if you have a site that lets you link external pages as a tab that opens in a separate window. I am on Weebly and I linked my Zazzle stores as pages so you click the tab and it opens but it is still Zazzle shopping cart so it is really all an illusion... I would absolutely install a cart from Zazzle on my site if there was one.

I would just hate to see someone not even try because of a blanket statement that the FAA iFrame won't work with WP.
I haven't tried the FAA or Pixels iFrame yet, but I've used iFrames on various WP sites with no problems. Most are WP on HostGator with shared hosting; some are add-on domains. But now that I think of it, I have a client using WP on BlueHost shared hosting with YouTube video embeds, and those are iFrame also.

I was previously on Wix with my old website and they have a shop option - but I found Wix in general was too slow to load and so I didn't renew when the time came along. The tabs option with weebly seems like a good workaround for a zazzle cart though.

Weebly can be slow to load too if you don't optimize your images (I had to learn this the hard way) and if you have a whole bunch of widgets... I probably have too many of those too but oh well. it does okay for a free plan. I don't know how the premium plans with hosting are because I have been using the free version for years and not needed to upgrade. I like how easy the building tools are to use. I signed up for Wix but never built a site... It is so hard to let go after being in one place for so long and to move to a new address and have to start all over again. I might lose what little bit of repeat traffic I have.

Great that you have been using the free one for years too, and that they provide enough content in their free version to do that. I've never had a website I liked enough to stick to... except my blogger blog which I can't seem to move to wordpress. XD But I agree, if there was ever a Zazzle shopping cart I would be building myself a new website and installing that in a heartbeat!

back on topic... this might be the deal breaker for having one on Zazzle.

Sadly search engines don't read frames, iframes or javascript. So this does not help with the search engines.
Also iframe and javascripts that load partial storefronts or processing widgets can be quite slow to load on a page in my experience and should be avoided.
From past experience with FFA, Spreadshirt and other sites this can add up to 10 seconds of page load times. First you page has to load, then the script has to contact the offsite server to load the page and the browser must then build the page in the frame.
What is required is a PHP script which tends to be much faster and that adds all the product code onto your page which search engines can scan and index.
But you need to remember that, your site is at the mercy of the sending server; if it goes down or has a lot of activity that frame may take a very long time to load or not load at all.
Even using PHP scripts like the Zazzle store builder can be problematic, due to server issues or changes made on the Zazzle site which can render the script in-operable.
That's why now I just create my art on my site, add content for it and have a drop down link that says where to purchase (I use several POD sites). If you're using just zazzle then have a link to the category for that artwork or create a list of links (more work) where the visitor can purchase your product(s).
When you do this make sure you include your associate id in the link so that you can earn referral credit if your visitor purchases something else from another store.
Also in your links make sure to include the rel="nofollow" in the link so that search engines stay on your site when they are indexing it and do not hightail it off to zazzle as they scan the links (You can get around this using a javascript link).
Here's a basic example of how your link should look:
<a href="https://www.zazzle.com/z/ypqho?rf=238342918392304306" rel="nofollow" target="zazzle_site" title="Angel Wing Sword Of Arkledious DGS Acrylic Print" /><b>Angel Wing Sword Of Arkledious DGS Acrylic Print</b></a><br />
target can be: _new _blank _top name01_name01 (like above)
<b></b>: opening and closing bold tags. You can also use <strong></strong> which now is the preferred method
<br />: is the line break if you are listing more than one active link below another.
the title: isn't necessary, but it may help with SEO depending on the search engine; it also allows the browser to display the link title (Use if you active link says Order Here, Buy Now, Claim Yours).
Generally speaking if you are getting the links directly from the Zazzle link widget on the product page this is already taken care of for you.

There's something to be said SEO-wise for keeping people on our pages instead of bouncing them to Zazzle, regardless that the content isn't read, and I think that's what OP is referencing.
Something to consider, for sure.

On the business site that I just closed, I used iFrames almost exclusively, but it was for internal pages. I had just one iFrame setup for displaying other informational/useful sites, and it was a pain to maintain because of dependence on the other site where pages might be suddenly gone or changed, or the site may just end up completely defunct. Frankly, I don't recommend heavy use of such a setup.
