I've been on Polyvore for a couple of years now, but I only recently started to use it alot.

My first suggestion, is to NOT just post sets of only your products.

You will get more traffic by using one or two of your items in a set with other trending items.

Also, following a few of the heavy hitters and entering the contests is a good way to get seen. I've only been back less than a week and have seen a huge jump in traffic.

I agree with Tabz. Featuring your products among other trending designs help boost your product being seen. I have just recently discovered contests, and groups which does help get products seen.

Yes, you've got to mix it up! Sometimes I'll do a set of my products and other times I'll use none of my own! I'm getting lots of likes, followers and people using my Zazzle items in their sets! :-)

I was wondering has anyone notice in Polyvore that they have placed some of the items Sold Out? I also have an account, and some of my older items say sold out. I have removed those products that are temporarily sold out on zazzle.

It's not necessarily sold out. It seems to be a glitch as it only does it on some products. I've put a disclaimer in my about section asking people to click through anyway.

I've been "sprinkling" my products in fashion sets and have seen an increase in views for those products. I actually had a set featuring one of my Zazzle collections get chosen as a top art set last weekend Shocked

It's a great way to display your designs and a creative outlet. Grin

I wasn't sure I have placed a note saying that None of my products are sold out. Even with the ones on Zazzles temporary sold out list I went and I removed those from Polyvore.

oOo

I trust that polyvore updates its database periodically and that it will be corresponding with the availability status most of the times.

I started polyvore yesterday. I'm still in the middle of the learning curve.
I will shortly have the status of a style setter ;)

I think it is great the way you can make your items shine like in a fashion magazine.

Go to your home page.

next to your avatar you need to click 'more'.

then click 'create a collection'

and thats it.

In order to enter your products to polyvore you need the bookmarklet:

http://www.polyvore.com/cgi/clipper

Once your items are in your account, all you need to do is click create set or collection and drag and drop items and embellishment in to the set field and occasionally crop the image with the cropping tool to make it fit your needs.

Here a sample from a contest, were shirt and mini skirt melted to one dress. I cropped so it would fit.

Used a different preview where I had a t-shirt and didn't need to crop Idea

Using a Template

e.g a template by nermina-okanovic click fill it and drag and drop images, notice that I fitted the image so the jeans won't show
Using templates is a very fast way to create a set. Finding great and flexible templates is not so fast. Click on "open" n the set area on the left, go to the rider "template" click one to mark orange, open and again start filling via drag and drop.

Sold out is not a glitch on polyvore. if you links are not promoted then after 30 days no matter how many likes that you get the product will show sold out.

Yes Polyvore is excellent for getting more traffic and customers. I love polyvore. http://sgolis.polyvore.com/

Laughing I just made my first two bucks directly related to polyvore.

Used in:

This poster exists solely because I grew tired looking for embellishing text on polyvore to decorate my maritime themed sets and simply created a set of posters that can serve to embellish my fashion sets and are fit for real world embellishment. ;) gnihihi

I opened an account in polyvore a month ago and have 16 products in which 11 are marked as sold out. Nothing has been sold in my zazzle account. Why is like that so many products looks sold out and should I remove those products. Any suggestion/reply will be appreciated.

Since many have pointed out to polyvore, that print on demand is rarely sold out since it is printed on demand, my guess is, that polyvore want's to keep their social plattform fresh. Reclip your items and produce sets that get others interested in using your stuff. instead of cluttering polyvore with all your stuff I recommend to get involved with groups and contests and animate others to use your product of the month.

You can place the link with RF ID in the description of the set and in the set an in the description you can place a go there anyway.

Reclipping supposedly renews the products and remoces the sold out for another month. It happens sometimes. Most of the times I get the item a second time into my item list.

I started a show room for polyvore members who use my items nicely: https://www.polyvore.com/great_sets_with_works_vivendulies/collection?id=5433059

and in my reactivated facebook account I put my product in the design in front and after the polyvore post. I started a wordpress blog https://stylecicerone.wordpress.com/ where I can link directly to the products. unfortunatels wordpress.com blockes more than two links to the same domain. I will have to change my link strategy there to counter the sold out cink.

Polyvore is such a good idea! I'm new here and my shop is in the very early stages, but I've been thinking of ways to market and considering my former obsession with polyvore, I can't believe I didn't think of it. I bet it would also be helpful when it comes to looking for inspiration.

I just recently started using Polyvore about a month ago and got a sale on a product that has been sitting in my store for ages and never sold until it was used in a set. That makes me think it is worth it...besides, its pretty fun & creative too!
