I thought it could be a neat idea to create a thread where we can have a little look at each others independent stores so we can gain inspiration from one another and offer advice to other zazzlers. Heres mine :3 http://simplypunny.weebly.com/

Thanks for starting this. It'll be really interesting to see other peoples' styles outside of Zazzle where we all have to play by the same rules.
Here's my site: http://www.colliope.com/zazzle
BTW - word humor always gets me so of course I love puns, your llama had me laughing outloud! That should be on a cell phone.

Feel free to have a look around at http://j32design.com/@ColeenZ Have you ever thought about to recreate your site with a bright background?

Any one is welcome have a look at mine but keep in mind this is site I had for years before I ever came to Zazzle. It started off as a blog that I shared my instagrams on and I have slowly grown it into giant mess that is a great place to waste some time. But I still post there as often as I have time, and someday I might even try to reorganize it, but not today... http://shellibean.weebly.com I also recently built this Zazzle affiliate site http://animalloversgiftmall.weebly.comUpdate on Animal lover's gift mall... I was experimenting with fonts and accidentally deleted my whole front page so the site will be down for at least a day while I rebuild all the nifty grids and repost them...

It took me a long time to get there and I am still not happy with certain things. Also everything is done manually on my site. I had looked at http://animalloversgiftmall.weebly.com/Not sure how much you can do with Weebly, and how much control you have over certain things. But here are some things I noticed. The first thing that pops up is the social media share thingy. I see it before everything else. Just an observation. There are a lot of changes in font size throughout the site. Lots of changes between font weight, and I see a couple of different font types. The menu seems to be a condensed font, while the coupons right below are not condensed. This seems to keep going throughout the site.

I will do more research on that. as far as the share widget I am pretty sure that is the only option because I actually installed that on with a header tag...I just put it where they said put it. But I do appreciate an honest critique!

Zoe great idea for a thread subject. Once GoDaddy releases my domain from being their hostage and my wp site is up again I'll share too. BTW, I noticed your picture (header?) at the top of your site is tiny. Is that a glitch? J32 Design wrote:

Yes, I caught that too. There is a reason Amazon, LL Bean, Zazzle uses white backgrounds. White is basically best practices for business sites, or for any serious site on the web these days. Black it tough on the eyes and not very welcoming. If you went white the white boxes around your pretty products wouldn't stick out so.

Shellibean, I just noticed on your animal gift mall site that scrolling up or down on your blog creates this big black page. If I scroll up using my track ball on my mouse or track pad on my laptop a black wall creeps up the page from the bottom and vice versa. Strange...

Hopefully it is a Weebly glitch that I can report and have fixed. or I may need to choose a different theme. edit: I just tried it on my desktop with the trackball on the actual site and am not seeing it... if you have time today can you test it again? or anyone else who might want to help out testing it for me? Thanks! I get the "black creep" but ONLY if viewing from my tablet which of course is a touch-screen and I am trying to scroll too fast with too fast flicks of the finger. I can't give you a screenshot because it only happens when the page is in motion. I have noticed this on other pages, including my own, and have just chalked it up to trying to scroll faster then the processor can load the page contents. I have no real idea what actually causes it though.

Oh gosh I can understand your frustration. I did go back to the blog and the black still comes up with I scroll quickly up or down. If I were to leave my curser on the blackness, it remains till I move the curser off. I bet it is the theme you are using. But if it were my site I'd be contacting weebly.

Are the other sites you mention from other domains? if so then it is not a Weebly thing and may have something to do with my site being slow which there is only so much I can do about that on the free plan. 1. I can optimize my images even more than they already are 2. I can upgrade to a paid plan and hope that Weebly serves it up faster for paying customers... Option 2 probably would only happen if I was to miraculously get some referrals that track back to the site... Part of the reason I am using Nifty live grids to display the products is because it is pure HTML and should load faster than other options.

Thanks for testing it again! I tried to reproduce it with my own scroll wheel and didn't see it. maybe it has to do with my header or footer? IDK but since I have to work on the site anyway maybe I will stumble on the problem... update: I was able to see it the way that Coleenz described on my iphone... seems to be a mobile view thing but as soon as the code finished loading the black filler went away. Maybe I need to post a speed limit sign... max scrolling speed x pages per second... it might improve after I optimize...or not.

I think the problem is with the template you are using and not weebly itself. The top navigation seems to be made from some sort of frames and I think that's what's causing the black to appear.

Haha, thanks for the advice I'll be sure to add it to a cell phone case soon ;) Your website is really cool too, especially the header, I love how colourful it is (I'm a litttttle obsessed with rainbows ). But I also like how you advertise the current offer at the bottom of the page thats a really clever idea as it makes sense that consumers won't know about any reductions if they've not come from Zazzle!

Both your wesbites are really cool and look very proffesional . I especially like what you've done on your style art website with the free stuff section, its a nice little touch and I think its a good way of attracting people to the store

Oh well while I am rebuilding I might as well try some others.

Ok I got my front page rebuilt and tweaked a few settings... I can not reproduce the black creeping thingy on my desktop even with super high speed auto scrolling... on my iphone I see it a little bit but nothing like Lynn was saying so I may leave as is for the weekend and try changing themes first of the week to see if that helps... Before I do anything else tho I am downloading a copy of my site! and backing it up to a duplicate site just in case! that was alot of what felt like work even to a geek like me...if anybody else sees anything weird with my sites please let me know!
🤓thanks

Still a work in progress but it's getting there, here's mine http://www.customdesignedproducts.com/It showcases my collections as well as affiliate product pages. I've chosen to sort the affiliate feeds by 'newest' so that new designs get some limelight!! One thing I find frustrating with Zazzle is that it's hard for new designs to get seen, so hopefully this helps those new designs and new zazzlers to get one or two hits that perhaps they may not have got. I've used Mark's Nifty tool to populate the feeds, so once I've set the pages I can forget it and know it's loading the newest items from the department or category I've chosen....a great tool!

The general guideline is to use sans serif for titles and heads and serif for blocks of text because serif is easier to read. Changing the font, when done for a reason, can certainly add interest, but it should be done very sparingly. The only place that pops to mind where I've seen it done well is on posters and sometimes in advertising. I'd give a link to my new site, but it's still incubating on my computer, unlikely to go live until sometime in the fall. I'd say it's a labor of love, but I'm developing a rabid resentment of it.
