Let's earn our Profile Badge from Zazzle... not sure I have the name right, but we can support each other by completing our profile requirements and show our profiles some love. That means supporting each other... why, you ask? Aren't we in competition? Well...

I've seen the LIGHT... and now I know why it's so important for us to like each other... to add each others items to our wish lists and to review products we've bought. Zazzle wants us to do it for a reason. Let's earn the new badge and be good zazzlers.

To earn my badge, I'm going to stores, liking them, liking a few items, wishing for a few items, reviewing or commenting on them. This helps my profile be complete and makes a good community. To complete our profiles we need to Like what we really like, and find a way to support each other, to be a community, to support Zazzle. I bet Zazzle will like us for it. They promise more badges and achievements, perks if we do it.

Here's my method for earning my badge. I Go to the other stores, like them, wish for two or three items, at least, make comments on items/stores. Sometimes I look at the key words to see what and who exactly the item is for if I don't understand it fully. It helps me make a good helpful comment.

To complete your profile, don't forget to Review everything you've bought, even if it's hidden and will never be seen. If you bought it for someone else and never saw it, just say that you bought it for someone else and include a few key words that helps people search for it. If you had to redesign it and got rid of it, you can still review the blank item even if no one will see it.

Edited due to comments about gaming the system. This is not for that. It is instructions for anyone who wants to complete the very helpful profile badge. It helps us all to do that. If you're working on completing your profile badge, add your store name and link below so we can see how it's going.

Hm. Can this be seen as trying to game the Zazzle system???
Posted: Saturday, June 02, 2012 2:55:13 PM
Working through the list liked most of you already xd Stick out tongue

Leaving comments as much as I can I hope you return the favor as sales are slow to say the least of late.

Thanks in advance fab post idea...

Shocked OH no >Sad just read this why can't I look and like others? I'm so worried now about my thousands of product getting removed. I don't see that looking into other stores and liking a few products is wrong but I'm not the mind of zazzle. If I really like it or would like it and feel it is worthy of comment is there really such a problem that zazzle will remove all my thousands of products and my business. I'm soo worried I don't like this. I promote zazzle outside of zazzle and it is nice to give other zazzlers a little support once in awhile.

BUT I will not be liking others if I risk my thousands of hours of hard work and time. But I'm confused as my profile is saying I need to do this as only 80%??? >Sad

I remember we did this in the ProSeller forum once and we had to stop. It's against Zazzle's rules.

And so it should be.

It's called using the system that Zazzle has set up for us. There are Zazzle badges given out for liking other people's items, for commenting on them, for adding them to wish lists.

On my profile page, I'm encouraged to do this by zazzle. Zazzle needs us to be more social with each other. It's called playing nicely and cooperating. It's about supporting our whole site. This thread encourages making wish lists, encourages visiting each others stores, encourages liking products. That's a good thing. It's about being a community and earning the badge.

Well, I'm just giving a warning. I'm not the person to try to convince. Smile

I hope I'm wrong. Thanks, by the way, for your comments on my products today.

Thanks for the 'warning' but I'm going to get my profile badge. And I think it's a really good thing. We have to like each other, to wish for each other's items and visit each others stores to do that. It's for a REASON that Zazzle is encouraging us to do that on our profile pages.

Your welcome for the comments. I mean what I say in the comments, too! Love

Yep, I remember that. Not gonna do it. I don't want my stores closed.
Posted: Saturday, June 02, 2012 3:46:40 PM
Why would Zazzle close your store when what we're doing is filling our profiles out? Since I started this thread a few hours ago, I went from my profile being 45% complete to 90% complete.

It's so much fun to find out what other people are making, to look carefully at their items, to be inspired by who we are collectively, to like that and make comments that are encouraging and uplifting? Shopkeepers go to other stores. Zazzle wants us to go to each others stores and to like them, to put items in our wish lists, to connect with each other. There's a cool badge for it, too.

Unfortunately, even though your intentions are good and you're not actually trying to game the system, it can be seen that way anyway.

If you make a thread in the Show & Tell forum and show people your store or products, without asking people to like it, then that's OK.

Here's what a moderator posted in the ProSeller forums when someone asked where the thread went, because it had disappeared:

Quote:
It had a very temporary effect because we manually removed those participating stores from the flagged gaming list. Had they remained, the system would have reported them as gamed products and your accounts would have been sent to Customer Service and Legal for investigation, potential removal from the site, and a full forfeiture of earnings. Repeated attempts to game are sent to outside counsel for prosecution and damages.

The Zazzle Team

Everyone makes mistakes or doesn't know about the rules for this sort of thing. We certainly didn't when we attempted this same thing. I really hope that I'm wrong and you guys can do this without being flagged. But personally, I wouldn't take a chance.

Thanks, Nyxxie, for posting that. I'll re-edit the main entry to help everyone know that we're supporting zazzle by building our profiles to earn the new badge.

The profile badge is new. It wasn't there when you guys did that, was it?

Edit
Just thinking about this.... and I'll take out the instructions. We are not asking each other for likes or comments, reviews or to be added to wish lists, that's clear. We're posting here to show that we're going for the badge. Don't be afraid to do that My Little Eden and others. It's OK. Idea

No. But I doubt the rules have changed just because of the new badges.

To try to further explain what nyxxie and Maz are referring to I will add that it is ok to Like, Comment, Add To Wishlist (and Zazzle is encouraging that), but it takes on a whole different meaning when *YOU* come to the forums and start threads like this asking for Likes, Comments, etc (Like me and I will Like you back has always been frowned upon, and there were issues with that when we had Fan Clubs - the Like button basically took the place of Fan Clubs - and people would post the "Fan me and I will Fan you back" threads). Doing these things on your own, without asking for, or wanting, anything in return is fine ... Doing these things, and wanting reciprocation for a boost, has been deemed as Gaming The System. Whether Zazzle has changed their stance on this since adding this new perk deal is not known, as Zazzle hasn't chimed in anywhere on any of these threads but, from knowing what Zazzle has said before, it isn't worth the risk to be a part of these boosting parties. If I choose to go after these perks, which I doubt I will as I'd prefer to work instead of going after invisible badges that only I will see (I've yet to see Badges, other than Pro Seller, on profiles), I'll do my own without nudging, quietly, genuinely, and want for nothing in return.

Have a great night, folks!

Thanks again, for your help in how to put together this thread. I've clarified it. Now it is very clear that this thread is to help us earn the new badge by doing what we need to do in the profiles. That is to like each other, to make wish lists of each others items, to comment on and review items. I indicated that its for the badges. Looks OK now to you?

There are strong reasons to get with Zazzles program and earn the profile badge. It helps us all. A big part of the badge is visiting each others stores, liking items and adding them to wishlists. It is helpful not only to zazzle but to you. Don't be scared off. At first I thought it was just a social thing, but then I realized there's more to it.

This is a good thread about the new badge, which has been confusing to some. But some of us like the badge and we want the perks that zazzle promises to give us for completing it. We aren't telling each other to like the stores listed here. Instead, we're indicating that we're going for the badge. Is that clear?

Who else is going for their great zazzler profile badge and giving their profile some love? Some are not, that's fine. Who likes the new badge? I do.

Shocked Ack! I had no idea I was stepping into a controversy! Time for me to read the TOS more carefully. I also wasn't aware that likes and wish lists were involved in the internal search. Good to know. (so popular isn't best selling?) I figured we were leaving any pertinent comments for google to see. Didn't mean to try to game the system Sad

I know that none of you were. Those of you posting in here in this thread are all new, near as I can tell, and don't know what has gone on before. That is why those of here longer popped in to share what we know from experience or from what we have seen and/or read before.

I think you're fine. At least you're heeding the warning. Smile

Thank you, older members, for coming to our aid. The thread is OK to post on now? Can we continue to post our store names so we let others know we're going for the new badge? I edited everything so that it is clear we're here to go for the profile... that exchange means doing what we need to do for the profile badge... not that we're asking for anything here from each other. I guess we'll know if it's OK to support the new profile badge if the thread stays up.

I did see a badge on someone's store and it looked cool... a sticker of approval. Since I'm only half way to my ZazzlePro status, that badge would be great to have. Plus Zazzle is promising other perks, achievements and more badges.

EDIT - So I think I understand the system better. Thank you SOOO much for the guidance. I'll go to the Show and Tell Forum. That seems like the right place to show and tell about profiles and earning the badge. No asking for likes or anything of that nature. See you over there. I'm very excited about getting my profile from 45% complete to 90% complete in one day!

i think "like what we really like" is no violation to the TOS.

so what the way to promote my store ??
Posted: Monday, June 04, 2012 10:05:25 AM
I've been thinking about this... I learned from it. To answer your question, nedal jumal, I'd say that we promote our stores by making good products, by adding them to the forum when associates call for products, by making good and accurate tags. And that it's one thing to visit other stores and make wishlists... it's another to form what might be construed as 'clubs'. Asking for an exchange of likes is like making a club. It's not the same thing as asking for facebook likes.

Since we also learned that Zazzle is quite strict about this, is there a policy page for the social do's and don't that I may have missed, that I can read, so I don't step into another pit? Something other than don't use profanity, etc. that covers things like this one?

to be considered as a club you have to force the members to like you store if you going to like there store or items, but viewing and like if you like isn't a club in anyway
