How to build referral links to specific categories and/ or subcategories
Posted: Wednesday, August 07, 2019 5:16:21 AM
I am trying to create a referral link to a specific subcategory.
I know there is a number for each one as I found it in the url.
196979499848039127 for example.

I know...this is one of my dumber questions Sad

I will be creating ref links to various level of categories.

dont forget to add a tracking code so you know if it ever works!
add
&tc=a_tracking_code_you_make_up
Only digits, letters and underscores can be used.

The referral ID is referenced with rf=00000000000000 in the url.

The RFID can be placed as the only parameter or with others.

If it is the only reference you add the RFID with a question mark

http...link whatever/?rf=00000000000000

if there is already a parameter like http ... link whatever/?param=instruction you have one param with a question mark the other with an ampersand so the link looks like this:

http ... link whatever/?param=instruction&rf=00000000000000
or
http ... link whatever/?rf=00000000000000&param=instruction

the first parameter is added with a question mark any additional parameter is added with an ampersand and that is all there is to it. Very simple.

Thanks for the reminder. To-be learned is where to look to see which ones are working. I remember when I set up my store...I had to do all this analytic work, however, I have yet to learn how and where to find the data..once I have date Smile

So my effort to teach you the structure of links was wasted time?
So you don't see the benefit to add your ref id to any link from now on.

That'll teach me.

When you make a sale it is listed underneath. You can already find tracking codes from 3rd party sellers listed in your sales stats.

EDIT:
Whoops - seems I can no longer see them. Probably only your own now, so keep adding and one day you will ...

Thanks once again Viven
So the rf can be preceded either with a ? or a & depending on if it is alone.
In the case of adding a number which refers to a particular subcategory... the ref can have a ? and the subcategory can have a & ...as well as using another parameter such as a tc code which also gets an &.
Do I get it?
How is this with a tc code?

Tracking codes are also included in your sale notification emails which only go out once the item is shipped. Tracking codes are included whether they are yours or a 3rd party. Some have none...

Thanks Shelli. Darn. I was just making room in my very full g aaa m aaa ail and deleted them. I will see if I some left.
Update: ProductPurchaseForContriubuter is repeated often upon hovering on the product link. Would that be Zazzle's "affiliate" link?
Strange. My name of the email service was automatically substituted with the word spam by this forum software. I edited it to not break some rule I don't understand.

You can only add one RFID but the tracking code is such an additional paramater which when added first is preceded by a question mark and if it is the second it is preceded by an ampersand.

Another parameter you might want to add is sort by newest which come with two instructions

sd=desc newest first decending // oldest first sd=asc
st=date_created and st for sort criteria is date created

so the link is http... link whatever/?sd=desc&st=date_created&rf=00000000000&tc=tell_me_where_the_sale_came_from

Every following parameter with instructions is added with an ampersand &
