BitTubers: New Social Media

It's still in Beta but I've been using it to promote my Zazzle products, among other things.

What I like about it is it's ad-free and also you earn from browsing others content and from others browsing yours.

Users can also donate TUBES to other users so if you want to sell any of your designs or art on there, you can accept payment in that form if you want.

One more thing. None of your posts will ever be hidden from your subscribers like Facebook does.

You can check out my profile to see what it's like.

peer-to-peer is an invitation to copyright infringement, which in the past has been shut down by the FBI and the management went to jail. And I know a bunch of people my landlords among them who paid a dear price when they got caught exchanging copyright infringements with torrents. My landlords didn't use torrents their tenants did and my landlord paid the fine which is why he had to restrict access or else I wouldn't have known about.

I don't want to dampen your enthusiasm, but I would put all my eggs in this project, because the technique they use invites abuse and participants are at risk to get caught up in infringement when their computer is part of the supercomputer to distribute content to the masses.

At least this is what I understand you do by downloading the software to watch videos in the first place.

What are you even talking about? Exchanging copyright infringements? What does that even mean?

It's a social site that combines Facebook, Twitter, Reddit and YouTube into one.

Apparently you didn't inform yourself about the technology they use. Quote from the about page:

Quote:
At its core, BitTubers is a WebTorrent-powered content sharing platform.

You install the software and after that you use bit torrent technology, which is linking peer to peer which means in torrent terms you collect and distribute. So every time you watch something with a copyright violation within the system you are also distributing this copyright violation. Consuming is bad enough but when you distribute it is even worse.

That's just the nature of torrent.

They are DMCA compliant, just like Zazzle.

I see hundreds of pirated designs on Zazzle. When they receive a takedown notice, they follow DMCA. Same with BitTubers.

Are you going to continue to use Zazzle? Because it's used for illegal purposes also. Doesn't mean steps are not taken to discourage it.

You still don't get the difference. When someone uploads a copyrignt infringement to zazzle I'm not participating in the distribution simply by looking at the product page.

If you watch a video on BitTubers you automatically participate in the distribution. That is what torrent does.

As I said, they are DMCA compliant and have features to report illegal uploads. They will also be introducing automatic content ID to weed out pirated content.
