Affiliate Linking Question

Is there a way to build a shopping cart and then link directly to it? So far I have not been able to find a way to do this.

Thanks

Customers have to use the cart on Zazzle, because they are Zazzle's customers.

Thanks Maz. Just trying to find a way to link multiple products together without using a collection. I am not bundling the 7 products needed for a collection to show up publicly. I only want to bundle 3 at this point. I know I can still put 3 in a collection but due to collection instability I was trying to find a work around.

Anyone have ideas about advertising and marketing for multiple products that does not involve a collection? It seems to me that it is "difficult" for a customer to easily purchase multiple items.

Thanks

What collection instability are you worried about? (just curious in case I've missed something LOL)

I've mentioned this idea a few times too, that it would be great to be able to "link" maybe 3 products that would stick together or become "other products you may like" once someone has added one of our items to their cards - Invitation, RSVP card, return address label - stationery sheet, envelope, sticker - pacifier, onesie, baby blanket - dog tag, dog bowl, dog blanket - golf ball, golf towel, ball marker -

So that we don't end up with 800 mini collections and so that people don't miss coordinating items.

Aside from creating our own marketing graphics and distributing them on social media, or maybe using them as collection headers and in the store media areas, or just creating tons of really small collections, I don't think what you are talking about is possible within the Zazzle framework? But wish it was!

Perhaps "instability" is too strong a word. Although over the last year there have been a few tech issues with them.

But, take the fact that any change to a collection pulls it out of the marketplace. And not just a change to the collection itself, but any item in the collection. Even if you only fix a spelling error or change a tag. The whole collection vanishes.

Now lets say I want to promote 3 items together. At this point in time, if I understand the works of Zazzle correctly, I can either advertise each product link, or I could build a collection of those three products and link to that collection. I am also able to link to a category page. So if I want to build out a category with only three items, I could. Now if I want to promote many sets it would be far less work to have a collection of sets to link to. But if I want to do that, I have to build out the whole collection, then advertise to it. Now if I want those links to always work, I can never change anything about any of the products in the collection and I can't add to or delete from that collection. Now image promoting others products too, within that collection. You would never know when someone might make a change to an item and the collection disappears for reindexing. And if the customer makes it to the collection, they have to find the products that brought them there and then shop.

Or as you say, just build 100's of tiny collections.

It seems to me that there should be a better way.

Being able to build a shopping cart with the 3 items I'm promoting and having the customer drop right into that cart would be far better, IMO.

Before collections, I tagged groups of items, then linked to the search with that tag.

EXAMPLE: to see all items by a particular artist in my ArtistRepurposeStore:
Each product was identified with a code for the artist.
Search For Linda's items using her code "Artnex3"
Link to the search and make a hotlink here

Only Linda's items appear.

But this only works on your own items. I re-read the original post and see that you may be trying to find items others' stores.
Perhaps you need someone to explain RSS feeds (I am not up to speed on these).

@BK - That is an interesting solution for ones own products. But you are correct that I would like to be able to promote sets from other stores as well.

---

I was informed through chat that Nifty may have a solution to this issue. Shame to have to go outside Z to make this work. It really means that enough people saw/see this problem and that someone outside Z came up with a solution because Z hasn't.

---

It is interesting to note too, that this problem was identified in one of the webpages I read where Z has college students review the site and come up with ways to make Z better. Why they choose to create collaboration and skip this issue... well, I'll never know.

You want a curated link.

https://zazzle.com/pd/collection
?rf=238713642921474635
&tc=jbs_curated_link
&lst=PID,PID,PID

Link breaks with a "return" in the middle of the code, so copy/paste this to see it work -

https://zazzle.com/pd/collection
?rf=238713642921474635&tc=jbs_curated_link&lst=235230337267806451,235998783739953524,235147760574513774

Not sure why it says "curated by Member ID" - mine says curated by a username (not the right one, but not my ID either).

Simply amazing!

Thanks so much. I don't even know how you figured out how to do this.

I'd love to repay you by promoting some of your products but you seem to have an invisibility cloak. I assume that's done for a reason, so if you want, you can reach out on P if your interested.

Not only were you a huge help with all the recent policy issues, your a coding genius too! A very merry ... Christmas, Hanukkah, Kwanzaa... lol idk

Just thanks and may more sales come your way!

Cheers

This looks like the code that was used years ago when collections were first introduced.

You're welcome! That's a very sweet "thank you" - you're welcome! I appreciate the offer, but no need to repay. Pay it forward somewhere along the line. ;)

I stumbled across it in Z's Help pages one day. No date on the Help page, but the code was initiated sometime after the partnership with Frozen began, based on the example used.

Glad to help.
