Hello Designers,
As many of you know, Zazzle has been working diligently on creating an improved design tool experience for our designers and customers. In order for us to bridge the transition from the old tool to the new, we gave designers an option to opt in/out of the new tool while we continued to refine some its functionality. Only about 100 designers were still using the old tool so we thought it was time to shift over to the new tool permanently for the following reasons:
• Since its initial launch in November 2016, we’ve had very positive feedback from both the designer and non-designer community on not only .com but our international domains as well. We have also seen a bump in our conversion rate as a result of the new tool, which we hope will be felt by the designer community through more sales.
• While change may be difficult, we believe this change is for the good and has already assisted in unifying our user experience across all of our product types and will enable new product types in the future.
• In the very near future, we will be extending the same technology + design principles in a mobile-first experience in our mobile web redesign coming later this fall so that designers can more easily design products from their mobile devices.
• Our work on the design tool is never done — and are always taking feedback + comments on how to improve the current experience — either through new features or enhancing existing ones.
We thank the design community again for all your efforts in helping us make this happen. We look forward to creating more improvements and features together in the future.
Best, The Zazzle Team
