Putting images into different albums

Not a newbie, but need help. I know there's been a hundred questions about sorting images, but after an hour or more of searching, I haven't found anything on this specific issue.

When I first started adding images years ago I didn't set up specific albums and move the images into them. So they are all under "All images". Now I'm trying to organize them. When I move one, the remaining ones move or new ones are added to that page. After I've put numerous ones into their albums, I have no idea what I have left on that page to put into other albums. Is there a way to show only images that haven't been put in a particular album so I can make sure I've got all of them? I can't even imagine how I'd double check to be sure they're all in an album. If I can't be sure they are all in an album it's pretty useless for me to put them all in categories.

Thanks for your help!

I don't understand what you mean by this: "When I move one, the remaining ones move or new ones are added to that page."

All images will remain in All Images even when moved into albums. "All Images" is the parent category and deleting from there will delete from albums, too (Just putting that out there since it is a mistake some have made).

We don't know what we put where without opening up the album. All we see without opening is the amount of images in the album. There is nothing on the image in All Images that says "This image is in Album X", at least not that I have ever noticed.

Gina is correct. One way to deal with it is to have two tabs open to your images. Use the first tab to accomplish moving and the second tab to have handy to check when you're not sure if you've moved an image or not. You'll have to refresh that second second tab often so it's up to date with what you've done.

Even if you move an image twice into the same album, no harm is done. I haven't tried it, but maybe it won't be duplicated. If it is, you can easily delete it.

Unfortunately, this requires an edit/view to EVERY image...

When you move to a folder, the information gives lots of information (you can even add tags and descriptions). So if the image doesn't list an IMAGE PATH, you haven't moved it yet.

Below shows an image that I put into two different folders

Name: TiesFlowers.jpg
File type: jpg
Dimension: 1472px × 385px
Date Created: 7/27/2019 12:09:41 PM
Image Paths:
My Albums > bkmuir > Flowers
My Albums > Headers

Description: Add description

I feel your pain. In the not too distant past I decided I needed all my banner images in their own folder and as I tried to accomplish that not only did the page reload over and over again. When I finally finished I discovered that all those images were now clogging page one. Evidently managing an image in any way qualifies it in the same way that a newly uploaded image is.
