One or several shirts on colour variations from one design?

Hi there!

I'd like to hear how You guys have done this: let's say You have a simple design with 3-5 colour versions, and You'd like to show them all. Would You put each colour version of the design on the same T-shirt model / colour – or spread them out on different shirt models / colours?

First I thought of course I'l put the design on different T-shirts, but now I can see that it's also a lot easier for the buyer to compare the different colours of the design – if the T-shirt / colour behind them is the same.

How have You (or how would You) handled this type of issue?
(Just wanted to hear few examples).

It's sort of in flux, because Zazzle has been trying out a color grouping feature (though it doesn't seem to be working for new products at the moment?)

To take advantage of that (if it were working), I'd say do them all on the same item.

I tend to take the polar opposite approach, since customers can transfer designs. So if I make additional colorways of a work, I put them on different products. Mostly because I don't want to waste my time making lots of things that won't sell. My output and sales are fairly low compared to some other designers.

Until they get the color grouping working as it should or abandon it, you could post them on different shirt selections and group them yourself by making a collection.

As long as you have 7 or more products in a collection, it will show up in the feed below the product image on the product page and buyers will be able to see that there are more options for that design.

Both answers has new information for me.
Thank's for that!

This is propably an issue where more or less both of the methods are used...
