Is there an easy way to move products between stores?
Posted: Tuesday, May 15, 2018 2:58:25 AM
Hi,

I created two stores:

Andre Michael General store
Andre Michael Photography Prints & Canvases

But when I create products I keep forgetting to check which store is selected and have ended up
with significant number of products on sale in the wrong store.

Is there an easy way to move them over to the other store without having to go through the 'sell process' again to recreate each product for sale one by one before deleting the existing one?

Thanks

Andy

You don't have to recreate the product, not from scratch, anyway. You have to click Customize, then immediately go from there without changes to "Done" and then "Sell It." Title, description, and tags will all still be there, and all you need do is choose the correct store.

Your problem is one of the reasons I did away with two of my three stores, taking about a month to re-post the products in my main store. Once the job was completed, I hid those two stores (because we can't delete a store).

Thanks. So still some effort needed on each product but not a full recreate.

Yes, there's effort, but it's way less than a total recreation.

Don't forget that the original will have to be deleted or set to hidden or direct to prevent duplicates.

I was doing that, i.e. deleting products I had recreated, but suddenly my store seems to think I have no products at all. Crying

Sorry, no products found.

I only deleted a couple of pages of products. I don't know what happened to all the rest. I still see some in the collections so strange where they've gone on the products pages.

...

I just found out that if I click on 'public storefront' 1,397 results appear. It is only within 'store management' that all my products have disappeared.

Anyone had this experience before?

If you delete a lot products, it will often show 0 products if you have deleted enough to clear a page. I you go to the top drop down and click products, the remaining products will still be there. Takes the website a few minutes to catch up.

They are still missing under 'store management' view.

The management view of my store still doesn't show any of my products. How does one proceed with reporting issues to Zazzle?

Do I simply bring it up on the 'Technical issues' forum board?

Yes, and provide links. They are sticklers for links.

Read the guidelines for posting in that forum and then proceed. It may help to search first to see if issue has been discussed before.

I agree that it would be wonderful to have the possibility of moving a product from one store to another. The problem is, I have a few thousand that I'd like to move, so it isn't going to happen!

My solution is to use collections, rather than categories. You can have collections showing in more than one store.

I then go to the settings for each store, and have it so that the Collections show at the top when someone visits, (and I might also hide "latest sold", or "latest products"). The collections are then in effect showing as "categories", if you see what I mean.
