Style elements and footer notes via bookmarklet

If you want to style your post or safe time by not having to type thank you notes every time, put a bookmarklet into your browser bar.

Code:

javascript:(function(a){a.value=a.value.slice(0,a.selectionStart)+"▀▄▀"+a.value.slice(a.selectionEnd);})(document.activeElement);

Simply replace the black squares with your text. Don't use double quotation marks in your text or if excape them with a backslash and copy paste it to the field where usually the website in your bookmark goes.

And you add a special thank you

Dont forget to add the bb-code ;)

or a shruggy
¯\_(ツ)_/¯

This is the text for the shruggy:
Code:
%C2%AF\\_(%E3%83%84)_/%C2%AF

Time Saver quick tipp.

Have fun

BTW. You could make bookmarklet pages with cute zazzle images and links back for others to use in a forum like the little thank you note in the lowere right corner ... in theory.

The code for pushing a current page as link into the bookmarks is as follows
Code:

onclick="window.external.AddFavorite(location.href, document.title);"

so replacing location.href with the bookmarklet code and escaping quotations should do the trick.
Happy

Code:

javascript:(onclick="window.external.AddFavorite('javascript:(function(a){a.value=a.value.slice(0,a.selectionStart)+\"[right][url=https://www.zazzle.com/z/lpub5?rf=238561640361616664][img=155x155]https://rlv.zcache.com/thank_you_with_heart_and_fkower_svg_vzs2_postcard-r88722de5cf44452aa5b9453169a7faec_vgbaq_8byvr_1024.jpg?max_dim=155[/img][/url][/right]\"+a.value.slice(a.selectionEnd);})(document.activeElement);', document.title);");

You probably should store your images for such a gimmick on your own server or google drive or some such service! We don't over stress zazzle traffic with a gimmick like that.

Edit:

Little afterthought / sidenote: at the very least in Germany such a bookmarklet page enters murky waters as to marketing laws and spreading sneaky advertisement, so the images would have to have an ad-label in some way to be on the safe side.

So if you pick up this crazy idea.

In any way this bookmarklet for adding content to where your cursor is in the textarea field, can also hold the answers to the FAQs here in the forum.

You don't need to know a single script morsel of javascript. Just replace the black squares with text and make sure that you don't have quotation marks in your text.

I'm sure you know how to add a book mark. Add this page and then click right click on the bookmark and opt for edit bookmark now change the bookmark title and copy paste the code from javascript to semicolon into the address field and you have a bookmarklet.

You've seen plenty of BB-code so all the stuff in square brakets is not foreign to you.

So come to think of it, you are just as capable as I am to make your life easier and approx. two hours ago all I knew was that javascript can do this and what bookmarklets are in principle. The rest I learned by google guiding me to the right source.

And yes I dabbled a little in javascript, so I can read it to some degree. Okay, I may have been a little faster in finding, what I need.
