Just a warning when we get a chance to redo our stores

As I am writing I am also thinking about blogging, Pinterest promotions, and our stores. I have a background in retail and retail management, so I will use terminology from that.

So far, I know that MarBeth Urbanscapes will just be a reset with the images identified such as "Short North Arches, Columbus, Ohio" included on the images. There will also be new signage (tags, titles, and descriptions). It will be safe to shop whenever this happens.

Today, I had inspiration for MarBeth Business. It will be a complete remodel. It will be a construction zone where you will have to be ready to duck from products flying out the door. Just a warning!!! Laughing

Okay, products cleaned out down to business cards in MarBeth Business. Some designs may go next. Need to do something caused by someone's words and low blood sugar. It is now safe to enter the store.

Back to writing.

There is a reason I was inspired to change the focus of MarBeth Business and it is because of an article I wrote. The issue with sharing is not breaking the rules of the writing site.

Our original focus was to create complete sets of paper items businesses could use to coordinate with their business cards. Now it will focus on promotional items businesses can give away even if they are more expensive instead of business cards because ...

I wonder why your post repeated 4 times?

Accidental and didn't notice it. Fixing it. I am kind of an impatient button hitter. If the screen doesn't move yesterday, hit the button again.

Let me ask a hypothetical question to get people to thinking. If I am a business owner and I hand you a well-designed, interesting business card and a well-designed, interesting t-shirt, what will you do with them? Which one could get my business more widespread exposure? What about other products Zazzle offers that could be used for business promotion? What is the best use of my promotional budget?

I can tell you it would probably be the shirt.

This is a concept that Ag and Gas and Oil companies have had down for years...Give the customer a free hat with a cool patch or screen printed company logo and your contact info. Said customer turns into a walking billboard sign advertising your business to everyone who sees them. The reason I know is because I know people in the Gas and oil business.

These same vintage hats from the 70s, 80s and 90s are worth money now to collectors and they sell easily on ebay. I even have a few for sale there myself. Smile

+1 to what Shelli said, but I'd add that t-shirts on Z would be a pretty expensive giveaway, so I'd consider budget totes that are $10 regular price and $6 if you catch a good sale which allows you to buy more for the same money. Also consider pocket journals (regular price $10 or so), they are double-printed for no add. cost (outside and inside) which allows to put more info on the giveaway.

I wouldn't consider keychains as a giveaway because every company does it and gifts keychains with their logo; people tend to ignore such gifts unless they really need a keychain Smile

Mugs would probably make a good giveaway (when bought on a sale). Post-it notes (cheap and surely will be used in everyday life). In holiday season, ornaments.

The article was for a t-shirt company with a bulk price of $4 something. Zazzle bulk price is 35% of or 9.72 for the value t-shirt. If a company was watching maybe they could use a sale offer of 50 or 60% rather than the bulk discount.

Anyhow a t-shirt or hat is the better product because when it gets worn it is exposed to more people. Business cards and some promotional products end up lost, trashed, or in drawers. So we are going to switch the emphasis at MarBeth Business.

You might want to also consider the Reusable Bags - they're less expensive than the t-shirts, fairly visible & shareable, and really desirable these days in the era of "green" shopping bags...

I also say shirts but business cards can be tacked on local bulletin boards where they can be ignored for months if not years to come.

Glad to finally really be back in our Zazzle stores. Our situation has finally changed for the better. We will be all over the place in our stores, on social media, on Weebly, and blogging. Where I won't be is on the forum and on the writing site.

Edited: I will be in the Affiliate Design Requests cleaning up the two request threads we have there.
