So, Customizables, I'm just seeing this nearly 2 year old thread now (Ummm...so, I'm a bit slow!). Anyways, I was just wondering how it has been working out for you since you originally posted this thread. Are you making enough money on Zazzle to keep working "just" as an artist? I hope so! But, I'd love to read an update on how it's working out for you. If there already is one somewhere, I apologize for the question...maybe somebody could post a link to it? Congrats and God bless! Rose

Hi, Artists4God!

I'm still effectively self-employed. I did take a part-time job at a local after-school program teaching an arts & crafts class, but it was only for a few hours a week and the bulk of my income still comes from Zazzle. Smile I've expanded to doing handmade items, which I sell at local farmers' markets and might be selling online soon, but have not yet had to pursue a "day job" to cover my bills. I am still "just" and artist. ^_^

Well, I've been waiting for this day to come, and it's finally here!

Today, I clocked out of Wal-Mart for the last time! Starting now, my occupation is "Artist".

WOOOHOOO!

First of all, congratulations! I wish I didn't ever have to have a "day job" again.

I have a couple of questions so I can figure out if me wishing for that is just silly:

1. Did you quit Wal-Mart because you're already making enough on Zazzle to do that? Or were you planning an quitting to try and make Zazzle pay enough?

2. If Zazzle is making enough money for you to quit the day job, how long did it take you to build that level of sales?

1.) I quit wal-mart because I was finally generating enough income from zazzle to pay my bills. I had been working at wal-mart to pay the bills while I spent my free time building up Zazzle.

2.) It took about a year and a half from the time I started my main store until it was earning enough to support me.

This is an inspiring thread! I'm aiming to make a part-time income from Zazzle - here's hoping!

I'm living proof that it can be done!

My goal is $3K per month so that I can pay all of our monthly bills and start saving for retirement and the kids' college. I know it is a lot to ask. There is only one of me and I have my kids fulltime, so I was beginning to feel overwhelmed.
The fact that you are able to quit Wally world and make enough in your stores to pay your bills is inspiring. Thank you so much for sharing with us that it CAN be done.

I hope to be able to make a living from Zazzle one day. Things are going quite well but it's not quite enough to quit my job just yet.

Hopefully some more designs and friendly affiliates/Zazzlers will be able to help with that though. xd
