Thank you so much for noticing my absence.
Remember my thread asking for books to read because I was having back problems? They got steadily worse until an MRI showed I have a cyst in a really stupid place--on my spine. It'll be removed on the 23rd. It's one of those rare occasions when a person actually looks forward to surgery, and the incision will be so small that it'll be glued shut. Recuperation will mostly be physical therapy after having spent most of the past 3 months in bed.
I'll see you in a couple weeks, and I'll be a much happier camper!

I'll see you in a couple weeks, and I'll be a much happier camper! Thank Goodness! Not that you have to have the procedure done but that you KNOW what has been causing the pain and have a solution is in sight. Good Luck and let us know how it goes.

Thank you everyone for your well wishes! ALMOUNT wrote:I had the same problem a couple of years ago. They removed the cyst and fused L5 and L4. No problems since, Good Luck You had a double whammy! If you sailed through both procedures, I can surely whiz right on through the lesser of the two. Thank you for telling me about it. The first thing I'm going to do when I can get around again is go to the supermarket to buy good food that I can cook and then enjoy. My husband can cook eggs, but all the rest is composed of wretched microwave meals. Sitting hurts, so back to bed I go. Besides the food, I'm sick of bed, something I never thought could happen.

Wish they could do it sooner for you. Don't overdo when you get back on your feet. Have you checked out restaurant delivery in your area. Doordash, GrubHub, Amazon Restaurants, Uber, and Lyft all do restaurant delivery. Tell your husband, he needs to learn to cook fast or your going to replace him with Guy Fieri or another chef.

Thanks for all the additional good wishes!
The worst part isn't surgery. It's physical therapy, which is needed because I've been mostly in bed for over 3 months. It's amazing how quickly we can weaken, and then once weak, there's no desire to move. I'm NOT looking forward to therapy. Gaah!
MarBeth, thanks for the suggestions, but I fear it could become expensive very quickly. Guy Fieri might be good, but only if he'd lay off those huge chunks of meat. Asparagus tips would be nice. But nothing with cilantro in it. I'm one of those people who have to spit it out if it gets into my mouth.
