Z Rank Tips Welcome!

On Z-Rank/Z-Score. Curious as to how to boost it? I'm at 3, and I've been trying to get at lucky number 4 (so my stuff can even show up in searches and such) for a while - My store completion rate is 95%! But still I sit at 3. I realize the real boost will be when I get a sale or two. But how can that happen if my stuff doesn't show up in searches?

Once you have a few hundred products it might bump to a 4. Usually completing 90% of a new store puts people at a 4. I wonder if that has changed...

That's a LOT of products though. I've been slowly growing my shop over the past month or so and I'll be happy once I reach 100. I don't want to just throw random stuff in there. Zazzle should find a way to use Z rank to promote quality as well as quantity...

(Though looking at some posts here, I'm not even sure if Zrank matters all that much Smile )

Your stuff does show up in searches. I picked one of your products at random and searched for it in the marketplace and found it. The lower zrank just means your product will be farther behind others unless very specific search terms are used (which is how I found it, very specific search terms).

One way around that problem is to design for products that are new to Zazzle because there will be less competition. If a product has 800,000 products because it has been on Zazzle since 2012, the zrank 3 renders you almost invisible. But if it only has 2,000 products because it has only been on Zazzle since October, suddenly you can be seen much more easily despite zrank. There are also some products with few designs despite on here for a long while probably because they are such a challenge to design for. An example is balls. If you go to the News forum (which you should do anyway since it's where new products are announced) you will see a post requesting people to design on basketballs, soccer balls, footballs and hocky pucks because so few people have.

Another way to get noticed is to choose a theme for which there are relatively few products. Thus, you can sell a tee shirt where you'll find millions of clever sayings, but if your saying is directed at plumbers, you might stand half a chance.

I will use this advice that's good sense! My zrank is at 5 since ages and nothing I did (doing better descriptions, getting rid of meh stuff, creating categories and collections, promoting) changed that,so will try to sell more this way
