Hi Connie and Hillary - Box 7 on your 1099 form is for referrals. Our Finance team has been advised of your discrepancies and a corrected 1099 form will be sent to the both of you. Apologies again regarding any inconvenience Love

Thank you for the prompt reply! I also got an email from you guys when I emailed the support address within 24 hours Smile This looks like it's more than just a discrepancy for 2 people though if we both had the same amount in box 7.

I doubt it. Box 7 on my 1099 is for more than the total referrals I've earned since I joined Zazzle in 2014. It means being taxed on the same income multiple times.

EDIT: I added up my payouts for 2017, and the final number on the 1099 appears to be correct. Thus the question remains, what, besides referrals, does Box 7 contain?

I would assume they also included the volume bonuses in that section.

The amount in that box is close to twice the amount for referrals plus bonuses. At least the final total matches the total of my 12 payouts. I'll have to ignore it completely as if the box has nothing in it.

@Tram
Box 7 for me shows 5 x more than I made in referrals. Could you advise as to the corrected amount for box 7 for me, and send via email? I have already sent my documents to my CPA.
Thanks in advance!

Hi! I also have an amount listed in box 7, but I only received royalties in 2017, and not any referrals. Does this deem a corrected 1099 form be sent to me as well? Thanks!

Box 7 was a greatly inflated number for me too, but after noticing the final number for earnings was correct, I just went ahead and did my taxes. I'd already gotten a corrected 1099 and didn't want to wait for a third.

I still have not received an updated form. Can you look into this please? Thank you.

Thanks Elizabeth. I didn't post here, but sent an email a while ago to Zazzle re box 7 and have not gotten a response yet. The amount in the box doesn't make sense and needs an explanation as to "exactly" what it is and why its there.

Hi Tram- I still haven't received my corrected form. It's now been basically a month. I've emailed the support address and it hasn't been much help. I'm getting worried I won't be able to do my taxes in time.

Hi Elizabeth, it's been 10 days since your post. Is it clear yet what box 7 is exactly, and how to deal with it when filing our taxes?

Waiting for your response Smile

Would it be possible to also check into my updated form? I haven't received anything either and it has been a month.

Thanks!

I have not received my corrected form either

What's really going on? This is about taxes, so why no response or why is it taking so long? If box 7 is referrals its wrong. If its not referrals, then what is? None of this makes sense to me, including the silence. I have been working since the 70's and had never had a company not send out required and correct tax forms in a timely manner and worse don't respond to important questions. This is really strange that I even have to post in a public forum due to no answers via email. Are my referrals going to someone else but included on my form? Without answers that is what it seems like.

Edit to add: Last year the 1099 from Zazzle was correct, came on time and came only once. This year I received an incorrect 1099 with only a last name and another incorrect one but first and last name included as it should have been the first time. But its still wrong because box 7 doesn't make sense. Very strange!

Hi everyone! We have been in correspondence with our Finance team regarding this matter and understand this is very time sensitive and important. We truly appreciate everyone's patience and will make sure to provide another update as soon as we have more information available. Thank you again.

Add me to the list, did not receive corrected form, box 7 amount is still extremely inflated, and is NOT referral or volume bonus amounts.

With all the technical issues Zazzle has, abrupt changes Zazzle make, poor communication or lack of communication, inferior products I have received and now this ... for Zazzle to be taken seriously as a professional company this needs to be resolved. I still promote Zazzle and also use, display, or sell the products I create and purchase on Zazzle at events, shows and festivals (if the products are top quality), so I expect good service from Zazzle.

I got a 1099-MISC for $26.50 in royalties I received last year on a couple of Eagles items I created on Zazzle. That's all I've earned! Now I have to file a schedule C. I have no idea how to do this! I bought Eagles designed t-shirts for family members so I spent money on the darn things I created and now I have to claim income on them, too? I have no idea what the code is. This is not my business. It was just for fun but so not worth the headache it is now giving me. How do I report this thing? And sidebar....no longer offering items on Zazzle. It is not worth the trouble this is now causing me over a lousy $26.50!

Zazzle is required to report your annual earnings to the IRS.

We are sad to see you go!

Unfortunately, we are unable to provide any kind of tax advice and would highly recommend consulting with a tax professional on processing a 1099-MISC.

Yes....I understand that. But I'm asking someone here how to report it since it's only $26.50. Someone on here hopefully knows. It'll cost me more than that to consult a professional about it. Bye Zazzle.

So it's now been about another 2 weeks. I still don't have answers let alone a new 1099 form.

I waited a week for more info since I had mentioned on the thread i didn't have a corrected form, but then I heard nothing back so I emailed with the subject line suggested and still don't have an answer from that either. This is ridiculous! It's almost April and I still don't have the forms required to file my taxes. I'm actually worried I won't have time to file them. I've actually started looking into whether I can issue a complaint to the IRS. I NEED ANSWERS ZAZZLE.
