Royalty History Page Questions

Quote from Royalty history page:
“+When your royalty rate is 15% or higher, a transaction fee of 5% is applied to your earnings”
“^User Options, such as special sizes and embellishments, pay a fixed royalty of 5%.

I have my royalty set at a max of 14.9% and use everything between 5% and 14.9%.

I was reading over my royalty history pages and noticed that every item with a 14.9% royalty had an added on 5%.

This included both 3rd Party and None in the Referred column.

Then noticed they were all marked: ^User Options.

Questions I have:
1. Does a 14.9% royalty count as 15%?
2. What are User Options?
Do they include custom names and initials?
Do they include custom inside verse on cards?

It would be very helpful if we could have a more in-depth explanation of information on the Royalty History page.

I understand about sales and 3rd party referral fees but this has me stumped.

Thanks in advance for your help.

User Options tend to be Size change. Like if a shirt is upsized to a much larger size and things like that.
Can't say what yours is for since product isn't noted.

Monograms, and such, fall under Customization and will show as a little c in reports.

User options are usually upgrades to the basic product, such as when a buyer chooses a better fabric on pillows. They don't include customization.

A "User Option" that I see a lot is an envelope with a greeting card. In theory, a customer can choose not to buy an envelope when they buy a greeting card. If they do want one, this is treated as an add-on to the supply of the card ie it is a "User option".

Here are three entries on page.

1. This is a card

2. This is a binder

3. This is 100 cards

All have User Option^
All are custom
All have 5%

These are all third party. However, those marked as none are the same as these.

Your binder must be 1" or 1.5". Both same price. Image shows 2" binder sold. It is bigger and has a higher price. That is user option. Price shows 1 and 1.5 price plus the extra to upsize.
I reckon the cards is the same thing. Customer chose a size at a different price.

The binder is a 2 inch binder listing. At the time I made these binders I listed all three sizes separately.
Both Cards are listed with envelopes for $3.30 each. If they choose not to order envelopes, .15 is subtracted.

I am not so concerned about the amounts because there have been all kinds of sales. What I wonder is why the User options??? on so many of my listings.

On page 1 of my royalty history there are 25 sales listed and 20 show User Options and the 5%.

It's all about as clear as mud!

Again, the extra 5% for User options include such things as:

Size upgrade
Paper upgrade
Corner upgrade

The binder was probably a size upgrade. The cards could have been a paper upgrade.

My royalties are closer to 30%, so I always have that asterisk and charge. I always know when someone upgrades, because of the 5% when a customer upgrades the product.

It has zero to do with set royalties, and 100% to do with customer upgrades.
