Product titles and descriptions for different color versions of same design

I am aware that for SEO purposes it's best to come up with unique product titles and descriptions for each design/product. How about if you create multiple color versions of the same design/product? Is it enough to have the same title and description with only the colors changed or is it better to make other changes to the title and/or description? I'm trying to make it obvious that it's the same design, but available in different colors.

Example below:

I would put the color on the front, that makes the title unique enough and sounds also better: Black on Tan Abstract Succulent Print.

In regard to titles and SEO, I personally opt for the same design = same title path, the product term/description adds the differentiation. Customer experience and design description congruence are more important to me than debatable SEO "benefits". There is a limit you can change a title anyway, try to find alternate/unique titles and descriptions for your Abstract Succulent or a German Shepherd dog portrait on 176 products, good luck Smile

p.s. I tried the different title approach on a collie design on blankets and posters. It may work the first few times but then it gets difficult to find appropriate captions, plus it looks weird in a collection if the exact same design is labeled differently. I'll return to the one design, one title strategy. With my best regards to all screaming SEO gurus out there ;-)

Ditto. Also, with color grouping when you click on an alternate color the product title and description changes to what you wrote for that other color (example below). I think it would be needlessly disorienting for shoppers if the product title changed to something completely different just because they selected another color option.

Thanks PetsDreamlands and Col - that's what I was hoping - would be tedious at best to come up with completely different titles and descriptions for all of them.

I read in some official Zazzle something somewhere (can't remember where at the moment) that while in general they want you to make the descriptions as varied as possible, when it comes to designs that simply have a different color, it's best to leave everything the same (title, description and tags) except for the colors. I think it helps their algorithm to match the designs and group them. So that's what I do.

You're welcome. No need to make your life over-complicated, SEO is overhyped. In the end, what really matters in Google's universe is traffic. The more people you get on your page, the higher it ranks and the more you get listed and found. Similar on Zazzle's marketplace with views and sales. Of course, you need also decent descriptions and content, but that alone doesn't do the trick. Have a nice weekend!

Thanks ZingerBug. It made sense to me to do it that way too, so glad to have confirmation that Z suggests doing the same.

I don't think I ever saw the official Zazzle something somewhere, but I'm glad you did. It never made sense to me to change the name, particularly when the name is instantly changed when changing the color name. We shouldn't do things that don't make sense. (Rule #649.5)
