Having trouble with beta banner
Posted: Monday, October 19, 2015 11:36:16 AM
Hi,

Can someone look at my store's home page and tell me which banner comes up?
Do you see the default one, or the one I designed?
And if you see the one I designed -- does it look awful? Laughing
Since they changed to beta, I can't get it to look right.

Thanks!

It's the one you designed, but it appears you may have used Zazzle's "recommended" size, which is half the size it should be. Your text is blurred, and that's why I'm thinking it's too small. Double the recommended dimensions, and you should be fine.

Looks fine to me, maybe slightly blurred but nothing to worry about. Remember it will look different on mobile devices and any text probably will get cut off, which is why Zazzle recommends not putting text on banners

Taking that into account, I tried to position any text so it was centered and didn't hit the top or bottom of the banner, but I'd have to see it on a mobile phone to know whether or not I succeeded. (I don't own a smart phone.)

I don't have one either, but there are plenty of free test tools out there if you google something like, 'view website on mobile tool', there was a good one posted in the forums somewhere that allowed you to see a site on many different phones.

I think I bookmarked the site. I'll have to go digging.
