Collections Questions Request
Posted: Thursday, January 04, 2018 12:51:07 PM
Hello Designers!

We are looking to provide you all with the most updated information regarding collections, as the current info in our help center, blogs, and store management we have is a bit outdated. If you have any questions you're not sure about (i.e. what is the limit of collections allowed?), please post them below.

Please note that this thread is strictly for QUESTIONS ONLY. Any feedback or suggestions will be deleted. If you know the answer or workaround, feel free to post that though. Other than that, we will be deleting posts that go off course or does not pertain to the purpose of this thread. This will help our team compile you're questions a lot easier.

Thanks for your help!

Best,
Christine

I'd like to know any minimums and maximums pertaining to Collections, this question in particular:

- Maximum number of Collections per user account? (I think it's 1,000, and it's important because I use the RSS Feeds of Collections for my external websites with both my and other Designers' products.)

It's a known issue that the RSS Feed for any Collection with an ampersand in its Title will fail.

- Is this planned to be fixed?

- Are there any other special characters which will cause Collections' RSS Feeds to fail?

Thanks, for asking, Christine.

Currently there doesn't appear to be a way to delete items from a collection. Is this intentional or a bug?

There is such way. When you are on a product's page, under the right bottom corner of its picture you will find a heart and an icon representing a list (the same icon that you use to add a product to collection). Click it and then uncheck the collection it was added to. The product will be removed from the collection.

You can also go to the Collection itself, hover over the Product, and remove it using that same 3-lines icon.

@Shelli Fitzpatrick I deleted your post because it was more of requests/suggestions/feedback than questions on what you want to know about how the current collection feature works now. But I did note them down before I deleted and will pass it on! Thanks

Ok Sorry I was not really sure what kind of questions you meant, but thanks for noting them Smile

With the 5 tag limit for collections, wondering if it is beneficial to include product type tags such as Shirts or Invitations as tags? I think these product type tags are automatically removed when we are posting a new product for sale, but Invitations are also shown as an example for Collection tags, so I am curious.

Also, can you possibly share any info on if and how customers are accessing collections? If they are clicking into collections, is it from product pages or from the collections tab on our storefronts? I have seen a slight increase in multiple product sales from customers but I would love to see more! It's also hard to know if customers are finding matching products via collections or site / store search.

Thanks!

Is there a limit to how many items you can have in a collection?
