Why so much out of stock? 2 pages: 1 [2]

I designed a bunch of black metal lunch boxes even though they were out of stock the very day metal lunch boxes were launched. I did it to give customers to create a demand.

Hide out of stock items and you loose the communication about the demand.

I love the look of black lunch boxes and still have my hopes up, that they will be available some time.

Yes, seeing something you want out of stock is frustrating, but while you're on the site, there might be an alternative. So keeping the stuff visible is not such a bad idea in my opinion.

I would love if Zazzle could sent affiliates a warning about out of stock products and also a notice when they are back in again.
But then that would require the broken notification system to be fixed as well ...

Sometimes I'm not sure if out of stock or discontinued.

I hide or even delete anything I find out of stock now simply because it looks absolutely ridiculous to see most or all items in a department or collections as out of stock when clicked on. Just to give an example as a professional real life designer the images are prints of my own original handmade creations, so they are only placed on products and colors that compliment the creations and in a manner that works with the products. So if the crochet creations are on colored shirts and they are all out of stock its pointless to have them in my Zazzle store or promote them. That is just one example. It doesn't affect my real life business. I am also able to manage my Zazzle store better as I have mentioned time and time again as a professional I am not into wasting time Shocked Smile

Zazzle told us two months ago that they would not be offering many of the shirts for the holiday season, and why. https://forum.zazzle.com/news/important_apparel_update

I am well aware of that as I have also mentioned more than once (not in this thread) that the News Forum is a forum I check when I am here and have even shared news from that forum. So if its posted in the News Forum I am aware simply because its a forum I check and also because that forum doesn't change much so recent news is easily visible there longer. Also as stated above the shirts are just one example. Shoes have been a mystery for about a year. That is just another example to make a point. I could post more examples to make my point, but its not necessary.

Wow, I'm finding more and more stuff out of stock ... things that were some of my best sellers like backpacks, wallet cases, and cutting boards. Many of those have been out of stock for a while but now even more stuff is going out of stock. This is making me nervous. What's going on? Will these things ever be back in stock?

...And it sure is affecting sales...It's hard enough in such a competitive marketplace, out of stock really weighs things down.

It also looks bad to customers. If I was shopping on a site that had a huge percentage of products "temporarily" out of stock for months on end, I'd quit coming back to check. I'd either think they're going out of business or they are unprofessional and just don't keep their site up to date. It's not giving Zazzle a good image.

That's my train of thought. I think many professional people and others think that way ...
