Bump! Still waiting for an answer Zazzle. PLEASE!

Hello Jules, I looked into the order and yes, the reason your royalty was adjusted was that there were two pieces of secondary content added to the design by the customer.

James C

Thank you for the response James C, and I appreciate you looking into this for me.

If the customer used two items of secondary content on the greeting card they purchased, do I assume that means two backgrounds on different sides of the card? (There is no secondary content other than backgrounds currently available I believe. Is that correct?)

I fully support the other voices here who request full details of what it is that we are being forced to purchase on behalf of our customers.

I also wonder why your product up-charge was reduced. Why would a secondary content provider be credited with a part of your product up-charge? Secondary content should be an up-charge, not a reason to reduce an up-charge.

I wonder that too Jerry. Maybe the answer to "why do Zazzle do that?" is simply "because they can".

Here is another example, with even more shaved from both the main royalty and the customer envelope option charge. My basic royalty is 14.9%, and here it has been reduced to only 13.8%. How ever many backgrounds did the customer use? One on each of the four sides of the greeting card?? Why can't I be told???

Another incorrect information about what we are told by Zazzle that we will earn.

Yes, I was always under the impression that "fixed royalty" meant it stays the same... not increasing or decreasing.

On the front page of the designer info page to attract new designers:

Choose any royalty rate from 5% up to 99% and we'll increase the product price so you earn that royalty.

My thoughts: This^, the lack of reporting the new secondary content (which should be reported the same as in the "t" for transfer, along with the option to opt-out from secondary content as it is for the transfer, when it was first introduced as well) is exactly why the new secondary content initiative is a fiasco in its present state. Please adjust this program so that our royalties are not subjected to secondary content, the purchase price should include our full royalty not including secondary content.

ETA: User Options should include secondary content, they even sound synonymous! Either the customer or Zazzle should be paying for this feature.

Agree! Secondary content is an embellishment... according to Zazzle's own documentation, embellishments will PAY a 5% royalty not COST one.

Is this the new protocol - we post in the Forum when we have a question about Earnings math?

I will do more of a AMA style thread after the initial response. I wanted to make sure we have the primary questions addressed before we get into how it affects the details.

Still Waiting. It's been 114 days now since the Terms announcement...

I find this a most frustrating and humiliating process. It does not make for a healthy working environment.
