It sounds like there were some changes made recently to the way text boxes work. I don't really understand what changes were made, but suddenly if the customer enters text that's longer than the sample text, it wraps the text - even mid-word! This is new behavior and it doesn't seem to happen all the time, but it's quite troubling, and I don't know how to tell if it will happen or not. Here's an example. If the user enters names for the wedding couple that are longer than the sample text, it wraps onto another line. You can enter something a bit longer for the name and it doesn't do it, but it did on a different product which I ended up deleting. Any guidance on this new behavior would be greatly appreciated.

I am going to move this over to the Feedback forum so that more people might see this post and join in on the discussion. James C posted in the News feed here: https://forum.zazzle.com/news/changes_to_text_box_handlesAnd PetsDreamlands was kind enough to add some additional documentation here: https://forum.zazzle.com/create/text_box_changes_good_changes_and_thanks_for_the?m=1650857#1650857

Thanks for the info, I was really confused there! One more clarification - if the text is curved it seems to default to the way it worked before i.e. expanding the box on a template item to accommodate the text entered. Do I have that correct or do you have to set the width before you apply the curve?

Do I have that correct or do you have to set the width before you apply the curve? Just tested. The text curving tool disables the new text box behavior and works as always. What makes sense, due to the nature of the tool (curving up to a whole circle). If you set the curvature back to 0 (disable it), a previously manually defined box width is restored, together with its behavior (box width lock, text wrapping). So you don't have to do anything, the tool does all right. Z devs: good job, well thought-out. @Scott Thanks. Tested for myself anyway and thought it would be helpful for the ones struggling with the changes. Thanks also for not having reverted back the other thing - you know. Nice job on the latest text changes, really helpful. The designer is getting better and better. Great job. Cheers!

Just some honest feedback on the text box changes. It would be real nice if we had two choices, to be free to choose which text boxes we'd prefer to use when, where and how we want to use them in our designs. I feel forced to have to 'play' with the new text box when this didn't use to happen*. And yet, I know how useful the new text boxes are for templates. That is why I am suggesting to let us decide which option we want to use in our designing. It seems like there is good reasons for both, so I'm not sure if it's possible to have both, in so far as a programmable way yet. But, just throwing the thoughts out there.... Thanks, Laura *ETA: This is what I'm referring to in the tech forum, where I can relate: https://forum.zazzle.com/technical/changing_text_size_via_number_box_maddening

Thanks, Laura While it is a little throwing me off that every text is added to the top edge, I don't see any downside even with the full length getting in the way on occasions. -.-
