Notice of Upcoming Sales
Posted: Tuesday, October 02, 2018 6:21:19 PM
I would like to suggest that designers are notified ahead of time of upcoming sales and their codes so that we can better serve our customers. Society6 provides this information so we can create graphics and let our customers know. They actually give us the entire week’s worth of promos. I just bought a bunch of cards and the very next day they were on sale for 50% off. Very frustrating. Knowledge is power and benefits us all!

I agree 100%! This is something that's desperately needed by us designers.

Zazzle does exactly that. You have to sign up for the affiliate email...somewhere. I can't remember where, but I get the email.
Posted: Wednesday, October 03, 2018 5:28:12 AM
That is good to know. The only emails I get are the ones telling me the sales for the day. I can’t find anywhere that has us sign up for upcoming info. I am also signed up to get emails when I get a sale and I’ve never received one of those either.

I can't find the link for the affiliate email again but, I have signed up about 5 times periodically over the last year and I have never recieved the email.

I used google and mangaged to find the link for the early updates email. It was in this post:
https://forum.zazzle.com/news/planning_for_2018

and is here: https://docs.google.com/forms/d/1NIpyIemCvNFy82ErZK-VOQvmA6SoyTovb-tJW-BYvzM/viewform?edit_requested=true

I am curious know why I still don't get them after signing up, though...

At one point, and because I changed my email address, I ended up receiving only some of the mail, not all of it. The culprit seems to have been that Zazzle uses more than one database for mail recipients. They fixed it for me, but I think that, unless they can merge their databases, it might be fixed only through case by case .

It may require contacting Zazzle to see if you can get it sorted out.

Thank you Colorwash! You always have the answers I need. Grin

It's worth a try, though I'm not sure how much service you'll get since they're not always aware of all the little details that affect designers. I reached out after I'd turned Pro, and so I was able to bypass CS.
Posted: Wednesday, October 03, 2018 6:47:43 AM
I would use the form that was posted above to sign up for early email. I'm afraid CS wouldn't be able to assist you with this as those amazing individuals are more in tune with customer needs vs Designer needs. Sign up and give it a while to take. If you don't receive an email in a few days or weeks, please let me know and i can make sure its still an ongoing thing.

Thank you Melrose. I would have never expected to be looking for a google doc submission form! I hope it works.

Thanks for this info
It would be great to know what sales are coming up to get posts ready before hand. I loss half a day because I am on the West Coast so when it is a 1 day sale by the time I can post I have lost to much time.

Hi everyone,

You can sign-up via this form to get promotional and Associate updates.

The emails will have the subject line starting with 'Associate News:'.

Hope this helps.

Best,
Elizabeth P.

Hi Elizabeth,

I have signed up for the email multiple times over the last year giving it 2 or 3 months between time (having read in the forums that sometimes the email requests don’t “stick”) and I was wondering if you are the person who I could contact to find out why I have never received them. Early in the week I signed up again and used a different email address and I am wondering now if that was a mistake because it might look like I’m trying to share associate information or something like that.

Hi Malissa,

I double-checked that your email address is now on the list. We sent out an update today, it looks like it went through to your email address.

Let me know if you received it.
Thank you!

Useful thead... I have trouble with time zones in that by the time I post news of a sale its either half way through or I'm posting early.

Why cannot Zazzle make this information available via RSS? My blog would always be up to date with the lates news then!

Hi everyone!

I wanted to follow up on this discussion and let you know that we have updated our early update sign-up form. If you are not already signed up and wish to receive Associate News updates, please fill out and submit this form.

@Mr.Tim - thank you for the feedback. At this time, we don't have plans to make our sale information available via RSS, but we will pass the suggestion along.

Thanks!

Just curious, did you ever start receiving the emails? Just so you know they don't show 'Zazzle' as the sender. The sender is Elizabeth Povarova.

Yup, your right. They come from Elizabeth herself amd have the subject line "Associate News",so maybe they are going into Spam? I signed up recently and have received emails weekly so far!

Hi Elizabeth!
I signed up and submitted the form so I can receive the News Updates. I actually submitted about 3 or 4 times over the past 3 weeks, but I haven't received an email? Am I missing something? Happy
Thanks!

Signed up time ago and I always get Elizabeth's incoming sales notifications, so in my case it works perfectly (thanks, Elizabeth!). Sometimes they plan long ahead, sometimes it's a bit more short-timed, but it's always helpful to know in advance, especially for the one-day sales and if you plan to place ads. Your store must be already filled up, tho, creating on the fly for incoming sales doesn't really work, if you wanna do it right, even if you know a half week in advance.

The sign-up form could benefit from a check list of what sort of sales you want to know about:
flash sales
one day sales
4 days sales
seasonal/holidayales (example: Christmas in July, Christmas in general, cyber Monday, etc)

I personally would rather know about seasonal sales and longer sales periods, like the 4 day ones. My reason: since I mention them on a blog and like my blog not to have "outdated info" I like to post a longer sale, then delete it once the sale is off, so I don't mislead people. Anything else is too much to keep up with

I put my weebly site as my website link. that works, but we could use more than one website link for sure...
