How is the Shared Royalty Calculated?
Posted: Friday, November 08, 2019 9:45:18 AM
@Zazzle - The Designer License Agreement calls the Secondary Content cost of doing business here a "carveout." The Royalties and Referrals page calls it a "share."

We are still waiting for an explanation of how the "share" is calculated.

Royalty – Referral Carveout – Max Secondary Carveout = 75 to Designer
10.00 – 2.00 – 2.50 = 5.50

or

Royalty – Referral Carveout = 75/25 Split
10.00 - 2.00 = 8.00 = 6.00/2.00

Surely someone has thought of the math before now, and it won't take 2 more weeks to get an answer?

We're expected to make a decision on our Royalty Rates to carry us through to January 20 without an understanding of how "shared" Royalties will be calculated?

Apparently not. This is so aggravating. I don't want to share my royalties, it's bad enough we get a lower rate than people who refer, and they don't even have to have a store. We work hard to create, design and post. Why are we being penalized????

That is the $64,000 question (nod to an old game show) and an answer sure would be nice! Actually, not making us share our royalties would be even nicer!

Hi Padie, I appreciate your response and your position and certainly don’t want to shoot the messenger.

Having said that, time for patience is running out as the deadline for the new terms approaches.

I can only hope the messengers get hazard pay. ;)

The deadline to freeze Royalties has passed, so while we would still like an answer, it's too late. This is an answer that should've been known AND GIVEN October 23 *when the split was announced*, and this is the second time I've asked. I broke it out to its own thread because it was important to know for the freeze.

Thanks, for whatever you can dig up, Padie.
