Does the trending feed ever change?

It seems like the exact same stuff has been in the trending strip at the bottom of the front page for weeks...

I noticed that too. Those same items were trending well before Christmas.

Does anyone know how the top trending works? Is it new sales? most sales? most searched? etc? Scrolling through I can't understand how some of the designs are "trending" Laughing

Yes I noticed that too, but trends do last a while. Just look at marsala still hot and that was the pantone color a few years back! We just have to hope to one day we hit on the next trend before it happens Idea

It does if you click on the hot link and change the sort from its' default of "last week" to "today". Those terms aren't accurate but changing from "last week" (which seems to actually be last month or two) to "today" (which is more plausibly a week or two ago) seems somewhat more accurate. It probably only gets updated every couple weeks. It's most recent iteration ("today") has 2019 calendars trending with a touch of Christmas cards (but less than "last week") which seems plausible for last week of December, first week of January.

In all likelihood, Valentine designs are what's truly trending right now but we probably won't see that reflected in Trending until slightly after Valentines Day.

Trending is always a day late and a dollar short. It does give a sort of snapshot of what was trending earlier but this info is either blindingly obvious (calendars trend as the year changes) or something you can learn from a landing page (photo templates rule).

I guess what I really would like to see is a "recently sold" feed so we could see what products are hot at the moment and we could promote our own designs at times when they might be more likely to sell.

I like seeing the design trends but I am more interested in data I can use and less likely to change my designing style.

For example I saw a return address stamp on the trending feed a while back that inspired me to make one in my own style and shortly thereafter one of them sold. I did not copy the trending design but I thought that knowing that people were looking at and buying address stamps helped me create a product that was in demand at the time. One of the very few products I have designed that sold within days of creation.

But that was several weeks ago and the trending feed is still the same today... so now I am wondering if that was just a fluke.

If there is already some way to get this data that I don't know about I will be happy for someone to tell me how! tia!

I thought once upon a time they had a recently sold feed. Hrm, I just can't remember. It would be nice.

Another thing that would be nice to see is the "You might also like" change designs every once and awhile.

you can sort the trending feed by bestselling but it doesn't seem to be very up to date...

What I'm recalling is a totally different page that had one column, and updated real time (I think).

1. image with the creator and stuff under (or beside it)
2. "
3. "

like that

It was maybe 10 years back? Anyone?

And recently sold would be cool to see what is truly trending.

I don't remember a sold page but I have this link bookmarked and may be what you are remembering.

We're not sure if this is a bug or people are just buying what's on the list. It's automated so that would make sense too. We're checking it out! Grin

Wow! Thanks for this bookmark! I had long since lost this and had no idea where to find it. I often used this long ago as somewhat of a guide!

So is trending just what was recently sold? Or does it factor in quantity?

This has been address now. Thanks!

Like you I am not clear on exactly what trending means if if means most recently sold or most sold recently... but either way it does help to see an updated feed so we can get an idea of what is selling.

Eta: product wise as well as design styles.
