Determining Hex Code for Background Color
Posted: Friday, January 10, 2020 10:43:52 AM
I went back to an old product line to add products this morning. When I designed the product I had carefully matched the background to the floral design. The new background tool no longer lets you see the hexcode used. I tried the eye dropper tool and the result did not match. Am I being blind and just not seeing it. This is a wedding suite and the background really has to match the other pieces.

Inside the background tab in the design tool there's a box with a plus sign. Click on that and you'll get the color picker as well as the hex code.

The hex# does show up if you have your background color selected and then click the + plus sign (the one you would use to add a new color). It isn't exactly intuitive but there you go..lol
oops...you beat me to it Zingerbug

When I go to the back of my invitation and click on the plus sign the hex code showing is 00FFFFF. I can't select my background color anywhere. The custom shades above have all replaced it. I haven't worked on this line in months.

I have to go to the dentist in a few minutes. thank you all for your help. I must be having a dense moment.

I still use my Color Cop app for color matching. Even though we have an eyedropper and all the other stuff; color cop just makes it so much easier. Just move the eyedropper to the color and there it is with hex code too. It really comes in handy for an existing product where you want to match the background color to use on a new design.

You are missing the last few steps.

Step 1 go to your invitation's product page.
#2 Click on "customize"
#3 Click on the back of the invite layer
#4 Click Edit
#5 Click on the "+" sign and then the eyedropper
#6 With the eyedropper tool click and select the background color
#7 If you hover over the color swatch on the far left your #hex color will show up.

By reading further, I learned that in Australia, shopping carts are called supermarket trolleys.
