Designer Attribution in the Design Tool - official feedback 4 pages: 1 2 3 [4]

If Jane and Sally want to try a bunch of pictures before deciding which one to put on a baby shower invitation for Marlene, okay, fine, and I don't need to get an email saying so.

The problem is the new licensing terms. In that scenario right there, the November 22 terms say Jane or Sally can add a [thing] to my design, and now the copyright for the compilation has transferred to whichever one of them did the inviting to the collab.

Simply, no one has thoroughly thought through this. Rush to launch for the season. Welcome to Zazzle!

Now, if the implementation has poor controls, allowing you start customizing a design that isn't yours, and then invite a collaborator to work on it (is that what I was reading above?), that seems like a serious problem. (Please tell me I misread an earlier conversation.)

As for the licensing terms, I'm not even going to try to figure them out.

I took on the persona of a second and third account and my alter egos collaborated with my design. Any user can open any mp product for customization and as soon as the collaborator accepts the work is in progress and control over copyrights have been lost come Nov. 22nd 2019.

I could initiate like a devil right now and if the account isn't actually closed and gone for good, in theory the content is still on zazzles servers in my account and the user still with account apparently agreed to the terms so now I can sell the end result legally on zazzle or anywhere else since zazzle was "kind enough" to include all those general terms that allows them to be flexible like NONEXCLUSIVE, PERPETUAL, WORLDWIDE, SUBLICENSABLE AND TRANSFERABLE RIGHT AND LICENSE TO USE, COPY, REPRODUCE, PREPARE DERIVATIVE WORKS OF, MODIFY, PUBLICLY DISPLAY, PERFORM AND DISTRIBUTE ASSETS AS CONTAINED IN THE COLLABORATIVE.

What are the best sellers again?

This is pure and utter madness.

@Fuzzy,

I initiated a collaboration on a design that was not mine. what I could do with it was add text and put it in the cart.

but it went into my saved folder also and the main point is it was not my design..

Having seen the licensing terms again (in another thread talking about this), it seems clear this isn't some sort of poor implementation, but absolutely intentional on Z's part.

Best if I don't say what I really think of that.

Zazzle?

Where are the opt outs?

I do not want my work involved in this crazy scheme.

And when the user clicks it in Saved Designs, the Product Page shows "Designed by You" and not the original Designer's name. That's a big problem, under the current terms, and much, much larger can of works under the November 22 terms.

Adding:

When I grab a Saved Design that originated in the MARKETPLACE, the Designer Attribution sidebar does NOT appear when I go back into that product-design combo.

When I grab a Saved Design that originated in CREATE, the Designer Attribution sidebar DOES appear when I go back into that design.

That's just an oversight to MP Designs, right? It's going to be fixed?
