I'm loving the new sizes and paper types...so excited to see this roll out!

Question: how does the Signature UV Matte paper compare to the Signature Matte invitation paper in terms of weight, color and finish? Just curious about how they match up when using business cards for stationery suite add-ons like invitation inserts. Thanks!

I am uncomfortable with the product display on the product page. It looks like there is a blank space framing the card.

I noticed our cards are now set to Signature UV Gloss. Are they going to stay that way? I fear the jump in price may scare away some of my customers before they even find out there are cheaper paper options to pick from.

As per request of Christine I'm posting this question here;

Because I don't know where else to ask:

I noticed all of the "old premium" business card stock is shown as out of stock. Are these being removed / discontinued from the offerings because they don't work with the new formats? Is this a bug?

Or are they truly all out of stock?

Also what's the difference between the Premium Thick that is in stock and all the other "thick stock" that is shown as out of stock?

3. Updated Cutting Quality
We’ve bought the latest machine for digital precision cutting. The quality that will come out of this refresh will be amazing and we can’t wait for you to experience the difference.

Does that mean that Zazzle will be able to cut designs that have thin borders in a way that the borders are more equal on each side? Or in general designs are being cut closer to what is seen on the screen, even when details are closer to the edge?

Would it be possible for Monica to make Zazzle chat showing the new paper types in detail, what differences there are?

I just received this message from a customer:

"I'm trying to re-order my previous order with the same paper but it says that you are out. When will you get in this paper?"

It is showing the paper stocks as out of stock as a default. Is this going to be updated?

Hi all,

To answer a few of your questions that I know of...

The old cards that are now showing out of stock will temporarily show as much on the site since we just launched the new paper types. However, we will be removing them soon once everything gets migrated over to the new paper types.

Monica is working on a Zazzle Chat and we hope to get that out to you guys sometime next week.

Customers can still reorder but since we no longer have the old paper types, they will need to reorder with the new ones.

I will defer to Monica for more of the detail questions here!

I went to review the business cards and was dismayed to see that in the back-end - the cards are blurry. I switched to public view and they were nice and crisp looking.

That might be a bug. Can you give us the product link and screen shot of the blurry image here:

Hi guys!

We're excited that you guys are excited! Just a couple quick responses:

1. The photography is just a first roll out, there will be more photography that will be added next week (similar to how the mugs look). And it will be good! Like I said, this is a pretty big project, so bear with us for the next week or so...

2. Products should be set to Signature UV Matte... the gloss is an issue, so we are fixing. The reason for the upcharge is not to turn customers away but to try and get them to purchase the new products as they are nicer, and we are trying to increase our quality. As designers, you guys are still allowed to go in and downgrade your paper.

3. The current paper is showing out of stock as we aren't done with the full migration. Once the migration is done, we will remove them from the site. Unfortunately, customers will not be able to purchase the old paper types, but just know the new paper types are really an upgrade from the old ones, so we don't think they will be disappointed.

4.@j32 --> yes! the quality of cutting will be a lot nicer. Everything is digital now instead of manual.

5. @RedwoodandVine... so this is kind of confusing, but the current standard matte (for business cards) and the signature matte (for invitations) are actually the same paper. The signature UV matte is actually an upgrade from the signature matte.

6. And yes, confirming with what Christine said...I'm working on a Zazzle Chat that will be rolled out next week. Stay tuned for a lot of good insights and design tips.

This is what I was hoping for. WAY better match when being used as wedding assets now Smile Thanks!

Sounds great! Can't wait to see the new images.

Excellent news! I know from my customers that there have been issues in the past.

Looking forward to it.

In any way I am glad to see business cards are being upgraded. A big thank you from me for that!

This a great effort, much appreciation.
However, I have one question: is the ugly grey-brownish background to stay?
Can that please go back to a crisp nice white, like for all other products?
Thanks

So it looks like we no longer have the indestructible style, is that correct? I got those last time and really liked them.
Posted: Saturday, January 21, 2017 10:07:33 AM
Me, too, hope the backgrounds will return to white...
Posted: Saturday, January 21, 2017 4:46:32 PM
Which would be closest to the White business card, Standard Semi-Gloss or Standard Matte?
Posted: Saturday, January 21, 2017 9:19:04 PM
I'm really excited about the various business card sizes but can we please show the sizes on the product page, without having to click on the customize it button?
Posted: Sunday, January 22, 2017 7:12:32 PM
Really excited about the new options - but can we please, please go back to the white background - any designs that are light neutrals are completely lost, looking dull and lifeless:

UPDATE: thank you to Finbarr for forwarding my email regarding this. Smile

Unfortunately, this is the new creative direction we are taking, so we will not be changing the background color back to white. The previous assets were faked, while these new assets are all real. We believe the new photos help add depth and a more lifestyle feel to the product page. The photos will start to make more sense when the other photos are added to the mix. In the meantime, please be patient.

I was able to see the sizes update on the page when I select each new card without hitting the customize button. Are you reporting otherwise?

Agree, that background is very unflattering to off white designs. If you are keeping the color may I suggest a bolder drop shadow effect or something to make these cards pop? The way it stands now it seems unfair to card makers who use this very popular color for their card designs that used to look great on the old backdrop.

Edit to say: the new background does look great with the darker colored designs though and even the bright white ones. It is only the off white, beige and pale pinks that end up looking less than optimal.

We do have Premium Silk though - water/tear resistant, much nicer option, same great price!

Yes but on the old design tool. I hadn't checked the new one as I don't use it because there's no edit button.

I suppose if customers don't use the old tool, it's not an issue but I assume some still do.

RE: migration of business cards

Is the system only going to be migrating the standard business card stock size or will it also be migrating let say "chubby business cards" to the new stock replacement called Mighty Business cards and mini business cards to the new mini business card stock?

Thank you in advance for your prompt reply and thank you for the refresh it's awesome!

Is my question not suitable for this forum? I wouldn't know where else to post it

Customers can only see the new tool, so it won't be an issue for them. The option to opt in/out between the old and new is only available for designers

Oh, I didn't realise. Thanks for letting me know.

There's no style for gold and platinum paper anymore. I had a few cards that sold well using those styles and now they look awful. Will we be getting anything close to it or are these the final options? What do we tell customers who want to reorder in these old styles?

@Christine is there an ETA on when the business cards landing page and search results will be updated showing the new sizes?

This is a great change and also a way to quickly distinguish the business cards from other similar looking products, especially since business cards have such a basic flat shape. I agree adding background color also add depth. Smile
