Be able to delete stores 2 pages: [1] 2

I know you can change the name of a store but it doesn't change the URL. I would like to be able to delete a store because its just taking up space when I look at my other shops. Im never going to add anything to it.

Thanks for the suggestion.

I know this has been asked over and over, many, many times - but I will once again +1 this idea!

Not only would it clean up the designers side, but it would probably free up many different store names for others to use.

it has never made any sense to me why it is not possible... Idea

Yes I would like that too!

Popping in with my +1. This would be a very useful feature!

I agree, again!

I agree too.

Yes, me, too. +1 I created a store with a name I later realized is already copyrighted elsewhere, so I never did anything with it and never will and I'd really like to be able to have some process for deleting an absolutely empty store.

I have two empty stores--ArtisanPillows and CardTray--neither of which are any use to me but might be to someone else. They just sit there in my account serving no purpose.

Someone quite a while ago speculated on a reason that the trash might not be thrown out, but all I can remember about it was that it (sort of) made sense.

Possibly due to previous sales made through a now unused store? (I have such a situation. I deleted the product from the original store, after duplicating it and placing it in my active store.) Is it true that a customer can reorder the item, even after it has been deleted? If so, it raises the question: Is there no way to tie the earnings to the designer except through the store where the product was offered?

I would really love to be able to delete my two inactive stores.

This is partly why I haven't ever opened any niche stores. I have two stores now but they are general variety stores so I can be flexible with the content.

Yes, that would be a very useful feature. I think Zazzle does not allow it to prevent any designer from removing a store by mistake. I have a store that I would like removed too.

Since this has been requested as far back as I can recall it's more than likely that it won't happen, and the reason probably has to do with priorities. Zazzle is focused on shoppers, products and the marketplace with designer's needs usually at the bottom of the stack. Remember how long it took just to get our edit button back? My guess is their engineers are too absorbed with big major projects and platform changes that require a full time effort, so taking the time to add something in like deleting a store is probably a very low priority item because it's not something that would help shoppers, improve the marketplace or increase profits. It's only something we would need. They gave us the basic tools to do our work and they function well enough, so why take the time away from more important projects?

Anyways that's my guess since this is just one of many things I've seen requested in the 10 years I've been here, so unless they completely revamp their store platform and maybe add it in then along with other things requested over the years, like being able to move categories to other stores, etc., I really don't see it happening. But for the sake of hope I'll just go ahead and add my +1 as well.

I've always thought the practice of creating "stores" to remove possible names for stores from other designers was really an awful practice. Yes it happened back then and it was a s**t thing to do.

At one point Z would delete a store for you if you wrote them. I don't know if they do this any longer. Possibly someone from Z could find out for us.

I have 3 possibly 4 stores I could have removed.

So Zazzle has never answered the question about store deletion?

Yes, a customer can reorder a deleted product from their order history.

I emailed them, they said no

Good to know.

Yes, that was the reason given, and it definitely makes sense. One of my two empty stores was dedicated to business cards, which is something a customer might order, at best, once a year, and so it would have been possible (if I'd actually sold anything there) to get infrequent reorders of the same product. Not so much with the pillow store.

But what if someone had dedicated a store to a discontinued product like Kindle cases? (I wish we still had them.)

Thanks for reminding us that you'd like the ability to delete your stores. Though this isn't a part of our current platform, our Engineering team will work to add that functionality in the near future.Roses

Nice! thank you and looking forward to it!

Thank you for letting us know you plan to add this as a feature, that's awesome.

The next step I guess would be allowing us to change our store name. I know this is not realistically possible but I also thought removing stores was impossible till you gave us hope today, thank you.

When I first started here I did not expect this would turn into my main source of income. Now some 10 years later I'm regretting not having the foresight. (hindsight 20/20 :-)

I definitely look forward to this feature!Love When I first started I had a million ideas and opened too many separate stores for each one not knowing how much it would affect my account in the long run. I've since condensed many of those ideas in to just a few... And I really want to get rid of these old stores that are weighing me down. Super excited! Can't wait!

I have two stores that have been empty for several years. All they do is sit there utterly useless. They cause no harm, of course, but they annoy me.

I saw this thread and thought it was a go! ... and then noticed it was an old thread. I got all excited for nothing.

I wouldn't hold my breath on this happening. I have a few stores that I have emptied out and asked for them to be deleted only to be told "We can't delete stores. You need to set them to private." So I just don't anticipate us ever having the ability to delete our stores. I hope I am proven wrong, though.

Hey, Scott! here is something the delete button can't fix...

Posted: Wednesday, August 14, 2019 10:58:07 AM
I can not wait to delete about 7 stores that I had started that I don't use! Someone else could surely use those store names. I hope that feature comes available soon.
