Hello,

Many Zazzlers have asked for a downloadable category tree, so here's our first attempt at putting something portable together. We'll keep this list updated periodically as we make changes.

Please keep your changes and additions in a list. We won't be making any more sweeps of the forum for additions or changes, but will be providing a system for you to submit them in the future.

Thanks again for your patience as we get our site ready for the holidays.

The Zazzle Team

No, it's the entire list of all of the public categories. You download it from the link in the first post, unzip it, then open it in a word processor.

When you publish a product and post it for sale, you need to choose a Category. This is a list of all the main and sub categories available. You can just use the drop across menu on the Post for Sale web page or if you can use this list to choose which category is best for your product.

The lists are the same, just one is digital and one is on the post for sale page. But one is in a little cramped space and this list can be viewed at a large zoom size, making it easier to see the categories and subcategories.
For example playing cards could go under Gaming > Traditional Games > Card Games. Or they could go under an Animal Category if your design has say a zebra in it. Sometimes it's hard to choose. So this list tells you what's available.
And sometimes you know which category you want, but you just can't seem to find it. Where do you look for it? Did you know "BASEBALL" is under both Hobbies and also under Sports?
Roses could go under Home & Garden > Garden, but I prefer Nature & Landscapes > Flora & Plants > Roses and then you even have the choice of a particular kind of rose as the final sub category here. But it took a while for me to find that category listing. This list would have saved me months of learning.
You may find this is a useful tool, or maybe not, it just depends on how you work. Hope you have fun with your designs...Roses

To Zazzle:
I've been compiling my own categories listing, but the way you've set this up is done so much simpler than how I was doing it on a spreadsheet. Thank you for this planning tool.

Hi Zazzle,
Can you fix the problem with the way iPhone categories get sorted in the product backend (My Public Products)?

All the iPhone 6 Plus show up in the same hierarchy with the iPhone 6, and many of the iPhones don't show up at all in their place in the hierarchy. For example, my iPhone 6 product category has a two dozen Case-mate iPhones, but when I click the Case-mate product subcategory, there's no items in the set. Same goes for the iPhone 5/5S product "departments".

TY and happy new year to all.

P.S. Online category trees (hover to see complete hierarchy)

I have been trying for a long time to have kayak added to categories.

Water sports > Kayak Kayaking is much more in then canoeing. hmmmm

Also Pickleball and Stand Up Paddle (SUP)

Has anyone successfully had a category added?

Someone asked for a link to the original post... I think I've spotted the problem.

When you scroll all the way up this thread to the original post, the link to the category list is a medium blue link on a light blue background, and it isn't underlined. It may be difficult for some to realize that it is a link.

The sentence reads: "We'll keep this list updated periodically as we make changes." Where it says "this list", that's a link. Here is the (current as of my writing this) link: http://www.zazzle.com/assets/graphics/z2/pub/zazzle_category_tree_v2.01.zip

When it is clicked, it automatically downloads a zip file to your computer called zazzle_category_tree_v2.01.zip

(This is the current version as of my writing this, so you should scroll up to the main post for updated versions of the list.)

Happy hunting (for proper product categories)... SmileLove Roses

I'm assuming this is a list of the now defunct category system, so it might be useful for figuring out tags, but we no longer have access to the dropdown that used to house all the categories.

They discontinued those category options about a year ago but unfortunately didn't delete this thread. They no longer exist. It's a shame. I really liked them.Sad
