New Afridrilles Questions...
Posted: Friday, July 26, 2019 12:57:18 PM
I just designed a pair and forgot to turn off the customize option on the publishing page because it is so out of the norm and I don't know, I guess I was excited to design them and just hit publish before I remembered it.

So here is my question number 1

Since they will probably not be approved because of this, will I get a chance to revise and resubmit them or will they just disappear? and I will have to design another pair just like them later?

question number 2

Is it possible to get the customization set to off as a default on this product? I probably won't forget again now that I have messed up but I might... and others might too. If this was possible it might save a lot of grief on both sides...if not, oh well, can't blame me for asking! Idea

I have made sure to select NO, but I can see how easy it is to just go and post for sale... So, on that note, I was just coming in to make that request!

True!

I was just thinking... If Z won't make NO default, I wish they would, at the very least, allow for us to change that setting via Edit!

I was just able to use the "duplicate this" option and make another pair and set it to off so maybe that will work.

@Z sorry for the double submission, I will try not to mess that up again!

Doh - I forgot to turn it off too for the first ones. And as they're going to review, can't edit them. Will we have to wait until they go to "revise and resubmit? Or will they just disappear?

never before today have I turned off that option. So just to make sure I scroll down to that option and turn it off before even typing in a title or anything else. At least I hope I did that. It's so atypical for me.

For now it is not possible. But a great idea and one we are pursuing. I figured you would rather have a cool new product sooner, with a bit of a sub-optimal experience that have to wait for us to work out all the kinks. Some things seem simple, but with a complex website like ours, often there are bigger ramifications for simple changes.

Keep the great ideas coming!

Okay James thank you, I just did it again too... so I will now have 2 duplicated designs in review... sorry about that. I will eventually get used to it. I am thinking I need to train myself to change that setting before I do anything else, even before I add the title. Then I will be less likely to mess up when I get a distraction like a dog needing out or a phone ringing. I really need an office with a door! lol

Oh... one other question. I didn't notice any restriction on royalty percentage, as there is with other Zazzle Heart merchandize. Is the royalty not limited, automatically limited... or is my default royalty going to mess things up...

There is no royalty limit with this product. But, as we are trying to help raise funds for the community in Kenya this product supports, we hope to keep the price lower and therefore sell more overall to increase our support for their programs.

You will see our own licensed branded products are set to a price point of $89.95 which is a 5% royalty. We recommend the designers consider that price point because our research says it is one that is appropriate for the shoe, and you will still earn $4.50 per sale. But we wanted to let you choose, just consider the customer and the fundraising aspect when you do.

Best of luck!

Oops, I would have done five then.

I noticed that on a search for Afridrilles (https://www.zazzle.com/s/afridrilles+espadrilles) the two categories at the top have misspelled "espadrilles" as "esapdrilles."

Thanks for the heads up!

I have yet to design any, but I know I will probably end up forgetting to turn off the allow customization button, since I always leave it on and am not trained to even look at it. ADD strikes again!Laughing

Oh ... *. 60 espadrilles with the button active ... because I checked within the template. I never ever paid attention to that option and didn't realize I have to deactivate the option. Shooooot!

Sorry, zazzle. My bad! I would revisit them if I could. Unfortunately I can only duplicate them and deactivate the option in the dublicates now.

Mea cupla! So sorry.

I feel better now... because I have about 5 pair that I slipped on and had to add duplicates. I am just glad I am not the only one! Idea

At least my failure had one positive effect.

didn't forget that silly button the first day, the second day i forgot once and today i have had amnesia about it evidently. but i did find if i duplicated it and then went into my products i could delete the original and i didn't have to worry about getting a rejection and the team didn't have to send out another one of those letters. Stick out tongue

So what is the perfect dimension to fill the entire space?
I read 40cm x 45cm but I've made images this dimension but when I upload it, it doesn't fill the whole space. And when I click fill space, I get a low quality warning.

What dimensions should I use if I want to make a single image (versus an image to tile)?

EDIT:
Okay, I realized I was saving at 96dpi and changed the settings to 300dpi... hopefully that will fix this.

Pixelcalculator.com: 400mm by 450mm at 300DPI = 4724px x 5315px

Add some bleed to it: 5000px by 5500px and your good to go.

One thing I noticed with the Afridrilles is this. I create many and a few I forgot to select no for customization. I received the email from content review saying not approved so I went in, made them again but the first ones I made are still there?!? They were never deleted by Zazzle. Shouldnt they be gone? Now I have duplicate products/designs in my store.

No, you don't because your store doesn't display saved designs. You can either delete or alter (don't forget to set customization to 'no') and sent those to the reviewers to be published.

The original ones that I posted and later on got a content review email about were still in my store front products as well as saved designs. I redid them from the saved designs and now i have 2 of the same designs in my public storefront products.

If you published them twice, sure you do. Just delete one of them.
