I've been on Zazzle for awhile but haven't created a lot of invitations with the photo option. Do you all suggest using the fill or fit option or should I just leave it with nothing set? This always makes me nervous for some reason. I'm always afraid the customer will have issues. Thank you so much! Bev

The best way to answer your question is to create one of each, then go in as a buyer and place your own image (try vertical, horizontal, large and small images).
What works the way you want it to? Keep that product.

Assuming you're referring to image templates with placeholders:
Use always Fill or Fit depending on the situation, as described below. never let it without one of these options, or the customer's image will either exceed your designed placeholder area or not fit/fill it and the customer has to resize its image manually within the designer.
FILL
Fills the whole placeholder area completely with the customer's image, regardless of its size or aspect ratio. The smaller side gets resized to the size of the placeholder area and the exceeding image parts of the larger side get cropped.
Use this option when the whole placeholder area has to be filled and to avoid blank/white areas or the background underneath showing through on the narrow sides, when the customer's image has a different ratio than your placeholder. The way to go for background images and photos placed under frames etc.
FIT
The customer's image will be scaled to fit in its entire size into the placeholder's area. The whole image is visible, nothing gets cropped, but if the aspect ratio differs from your placeholder's one, there will be blank/white spaces or the underlying background showing through on the narrow sides.
Use this option when the whole customer's image has to be visible, such as company logos, monograms and transparent images (clipart, icons, illustrations). Make sure, you've a working background under your placeholder in that case.
