Design Tool Keyboard Shortcuts
Posted: Tuesday, July 28, 2015 9:27:35 AM
Hello Designers,

You can now use keyboard shortcuts in the design tool when making changes to objects! This will save you all so much more time!

• Pressing the up/down/left/right arrow keys will nudge the objects
• Pressing the delete key will delete an object (a confirmation warning will display if you do this)
• CTRL/CMD + C will Copy
• CTRL/CMD + X will Cut
• CTRL/CMD + V will Paste
• CTRL/CMD + Z will Undo
• CTRL/CMD + Y will Redo
• CTRL/CMD + R will rotate clockwise
• CTRL/CMD + SHIFT + R will rotate counter clockwise

Best,
Christine

Yay! Thank you, Zazzle! (I hope I'm not the only one who kept wanting to "conrol c" and "control p" when designing -- it's embarrassing to admit.) This makes a smooth transition for us from AI and PS to Zazzle designing, saves time, and lots easier on our wrists and our hard-working mice.

Very much appreciated and I can't wait to try it!

I'm so glad we got the keyboard short cuts!

I've noticed I'm still having to toggle in a background color sometimes before it will let me CTRL + V and paste. Anyone else having this problem?

Thanks Christine. A question: Is there a chance that we could get a shortcut that would allow us to make itty bitty movements of text and images -- even smaller than we can currently do with CTRL Left, Right etc? That would be SOOOOOO helpful!

I'd also love to see a shortcut for toggling in and out of Art View and for showing/hiding the bounding box.

Big help! Thanks

Idea - Thanks for adding the shortcuts.

Make it a great day!

Thank you so much for this!

However, the arrow key movement could be improved. Currently if you hold the key down objects will jump across the artboard instead of steadily moving. Very irritating!
Also, like someone else mentioned, it would be a lot more useful for accurate placement of design elements, if the movement steps were smaller, 1 pixel at a time.

Yes, most of the times.

Hey can someone help me?

How do I shut off the "move image re-scaling smaller" and/or the gets smaller with every try at pull resize.

I do not want auto shrink on, I want it to move images with the crosshare.

is there any way to move the direction by increments instead of having the image jump? I thought I read use control for fine tuning but I must be doing something wrong as it doesn't work for me (what was wrong with the former way?) - I've given up designing anything with two or more images as I can't get them to join properly - what's to do? Thanks

Even when using the control key to create shorter moves, those moves can often still be too much. I'm used to pixel-by-pixel increments in image editors, and this looks more like percentage increments. I don't know what the actual percentages are, but it's as if the larger shifts are 10% jumps and the smaller ones are 5% jumps.

What I often do when absolutely determined is to do it manually with the move tool, but this takes a huge amount of patience. A 1% increment would be welcome.

Would it also be possible to have Design Tool Keyboard Shortcuts for

• Scale Out
• Scale In
• Resize to Fill
• Resize to Fit
• Show/Hide Advanced Editing Options

I agree. Those additions would be great. I am also still wishing for the the shower curtain problem (cannot drag with the cursor and can only move with the arrow key in "set" amounts which are sometimes too little or too much for the perfect composition) to be resolved. That however is in another" thread" and is a known issue.
