Zazzle's Google Feed limited to 100 items?

Dear Zazzle,
Laughing
I don't know if this is for everybody but I know it is not just me that is having this issue of the feeds only generating 100 items even if we select a bigger number.

Of course to attract more people to our stores we should be adding every single item to our feed. It makes no sense to restrict them.

Actually I sent an email to support about my previous limit which I think was around 700 items (on a good day) but I never received a reply.

Is this the limit now? I think we all want to know.

Thanks.

I agree with you 100 % !

With Google only allowing us 10 feeds - and Zazzle restricting us to 100 items per feed - that is only 1000 items.

Not good at all.

If the feeds are using up Zazzle's bandwidth - we need to work together and come up with another solution.

Yes I have found the same thing....feed is 100 items.

I have been playing around with something this morning. If you change the page number on the feed link you can get the source for all your items...luckily I only have 311.
So it looks like this...

http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME/feed?pg=1&ps=500&opensearch=1&ft=gb

And where it says "pg=" you can change the page number to 2, 3 etc..

What I did was clicked view source for all pages and saved each to "my documents."

Then using the first saved feed text file I inserted all the Items
from the other pages in the first saved file. Here is an example...

(Not the header of each, only the items. The header was left in the first file I am pasting into)
Also at the bottom of each saved file is this line....
I only used that at the very end in the first file.

So to recap... I used the first txt file saved (page 1 of the feed)to add all the items from my other pages and ended it with

Now I will have to see if it works! I hope this isn't too confusing and please note that I'm not sure if it will work as a feed.
I'll let you know!

I've done this before and it works! GOod luck.

I'm glad I saved some of the files I made so I can just change the date for next month.

Dooni,
I submitted the feed and it didn't work for me. Just 100 items came up even though I had all my 311 products in my feed listed.
Hmmmm??
Have you tried it since the 100 items feed started?
Thanks

I wasn't able to figure out how to get more than the 15 default items to show. Can someone help me? I couldn't figure out correctly what to do.

Mouse,
No I havent tried it since the 100 item change.

Exactly what I did was this: Leave the header on the first file.. then cut and paste the first < item> to the last </ item> leaving < /channel> </ rss> at the bottom. THen I still saved it as an .xml file, not a text file.

I will try another combined feed later on and let you all know how it goes!

Hi folks! Sorry for the delay in this response. Here's what's going on:

We have currently implemented a 100 product per feed limit on our servers for performance reasons. We were getting reports about incomplete feeds, or feeds timing out soon after we started promoting our new feed platform. This limit will remain in place until we can address the volume of requests more reliably.

As many of you have figured out, you can still generate more than 100 products by requesting multiple feeds in a paginated fashion. Use the pg parameter in the feed URL to specify which page of results to pull, and set the ps parameter to 100 to pull 100 products per page. Mousefx is correct Smile

I know we should have warned you about these changes earlier, and I apologize that it got pushed out without warning. Sometimes we have to react quickly, and unfortunately some things may fall through the cracks when that happens. This message was one of those things, and again, I apologize.

For now, rest assured that the feeds should no longer time out, and our feed server remains stable. Thank you for your understanding and patience in this matter.

Hopefully another solution can be made soon, such as limiting the number of feed requests per shop, or some other option.

Now you can't schedule feeds easily with a shop of over 1,000 products as Google only allows 10 clients per account.

I'm still requesting x number of products whether I do it once for 1,000 or hit the server ten times for 100 each.

What about limiting to 300 or 200 instead of 100?

Or displaying a load graph so we can help distribute the load with scheduled feeds, etc.

Just thinking out loud. I already have my own solution. Grin

Thanks for letting us know.
It is good to know that Zazzle is aware of the problem and knows how the contributors feel.

Thank you for posting your response.

Thanks Dooni,
I will check my xml again today and make sure I left the script correct.
Let me know how your feed went when you get a chance.

If you use this link that I mentioned in my first post it should show your 100 items. Don't forget to replace "YOURSTORENAME" with the name of your store.

Dooni,
I redid the feed and this time it went through ok. For some reason I had the beginning script wrong. No clue how I got that unless I page the script from the page that viewed 15. Who knows!
Thanks!

Is there any sort of ballpark timeframe to expect for a feed larger than 100 items? I'm really not looking forward to copying and pasting 60-ish .xml files to make my feed.

What about maybe supplying the ability to download gallery data in csv format?
