In reading through the zsb issues, I am wondering if maybe it's not that I'm a complete idiot, but that the webhost is the issue.

Does anyone here use cPanel for their zsb store? I read that it "no longer supports PHP 4", yet I can find no information in the guide that states which version of php the zsb implements.

I bought hosting about 2 months ago, and last week began working with the store builder. I have not been able to view the pages I am attempting to work on, which seems to be easy for most from what I've weened from the threads here. The configuration I know is correct, so I'm wondering if perhaps there's a issue with the latest version of zsb when using cPanel.

Anyone else having these sorts of problems?

Whether you use cPanel or some other front-end to access your server space has nothing to do with whether the ZSB works or not. I don't know if the version of PHP is important or not but ZSB ver 1.2 should work just fine with PHP 4 and I would think backwards compatible with PHP 5, now ZSB 1.5 may need PHP 5 but I wouldn't quote me on it. The other thing to consider is either ZSB ver needs cURL enabled on your server, if not then ZSB will not work. Get a hold of your host provider and find if it's enabled, if it isn't enquirer on how to get it enabled.

Thanks, Wrapped...

I had curl enabled a few days ago, as it was suggested that might be the problem. While is definitely wouldn't have worked without it, there's at least one more issue. I read in the cpanel forum someone was having the same problem I was and mentioned that it may have something to do with the fact that cpanel upgraded to php5 and that 4 would no longer be supported.

As for my webhost, we've gone over possible problems, but neither he nor I can seem to figure it out, lol.

Definitely a frustration, but I have all day today and tomorrow to work my brains out...

How about a link to where you have your ZSB setup and I'll take a look. I can't promise anything but maybe a new set of eyes will help. Oh and if you have Google Analytics enabled disable it, I remember people having problems if it was enabled in the past.

Hi, Wrapped. Here ya go:

http://8.33.7.25:2082/cpsess7017637611/frontend/x3/filemanager/index.html?dirselect=webroot&domainselect=historical-memorabilia.com&dir=%2Fhome%2Fseanpars%2Fpublic_html&saveoption=1

This will take you to the cpanel. The 8th one down is astrological-arts.com...everything necessary is there for a look-see.

Much appreciated!Grin

Sean,
It's late here and I'm very tired - but aren't you posting a link to the 'inner workings' of your website there?. Even without a password I would be extremely wary about posting such a link, hope I'm wrong..but.

Steve.

I don't know what the obsession with cPanel is but all I need is the web address where you installed the ZSB. An example would be

http://www.yourdomain.com/zsb/

and the name of the P H P file if not called index.p h p

I would suggest editing your last post and remove that address you put.

well, it should be www.astrological-art.com, but that's what I am not able to open. I was planning on changing the pw anyway.

Ok, clicking your latest link gives me an error .. .
Quote:
Internal Server Error

The server encountered an internal error or misconfiguration and was unable to complete your request.

Please contact the server administrator, webmaster@astrological-art.historical-memorabilia.com and inform them of the time the error occurred, and anything you might have done that may have caused the error.

More information about this error may be available in the server error log.

Additionally, a 404 Not Found error was encountered while trying to use an ErrorDocument to handle the request.

If there are no important files in that directory/address I'd try deleting them and re-upload a fresh unedited ZSB. Upload all files and folders that came with the original ZSB. Don't add any or remove any. If you do this let me know and I can check it out.

If you uploaded the files that came with the ZSB to your server and didn't change anything it should work by linking directly to one of the sample files supplied with it.

The ZSB doesn't make an actual website, it just adds Zazzle items to an already existing website. You can see it in use over on TheZUG http://bit.ly/MTdNUl in one of the classifieds. The products shown were pulled from Zazzle using the ZSB and displayed there.

Two days ago was my 3rd re-installtion of zsb. Not even my webhost seems to know what the problem is. I contacted zazzle support yesterday and am waiting to hear back from them. I uploaded the files and folders exactly as directed in the guide. I know it's going to turn-out to be some tiny, insignificant error somewhere, lol.

I wish you luck with that. Really no reason for it to not work. I would have to say it's something on your servers (meaning your sites host) side but that's just an educated guess. Smile

Hi Wrapped...

I really appreciate your help, and thanks to your reply I've figured out what was wrong.

I have a BANS (Build a Niche Store {ebay}) and *******virus_site_do-not-click******* site, which are both stand-alone sites. I was attempting to use ZSB in the same manner, which, obviously, won't work. So now that I'm aware it have to be integrated into another existing site, the problem is solved.

Part of the other problem was that my webhost wasn't familiar with ZSB.

So, thanks again, WrappedGrin
