The templates I have created have been left over the weekend to load ok and clear (whatever they have to do)
Today I am trying to use the quick create tool. I am following this tutorial

How to use the Quick Create Tool.
How to use quick create and your new quick create template.

All I am getting is the following all the time.

Quote:
The product line you selected does not contain any templates. Please select another product line.

This error comes from the area where the templates are!

If I use the premade ones from Zazzle they seem toi work ok.

Apparently my templates I have created do not seem to be able to be located. Even though I can see them here.

http://www.zazzle.com/my/products/public/cg-196164724947252217

Can anyone offer any suggestions please as this is pretty confusing as to why it is not working. (Sorry I'm new to here from a different POD and seem to be getting nowhere fast).

I am using Vista and Firefox (if that is of help at all).

All the best

Quicky

The link you gave in your post doesn't work because it is the logged into your account version.

Go to the public view of your shop. Click on the folder that holds the templates. Now click on any product. If you have templates set up you should see the place holders - something like what you see in mine
http://www.zazzle.com/dogplay/gifts?cg=196437044347441473

Search for Zazzle University for a list of videos - I think there is one on creating custom templates - sorry I don't know for sure.

If you move templates around you will have to wait until the system finds the new location, sometimes that takes a few hours.

The tutorial you used is perfect for creating templates from scratch but you might find it easier to start with saving the quick create templates to your local product line after you tweak them for your use. Just at the end be sure to choose to Save as "Templates to reuse for quick create"

Hi,

Cheers for the help.

As far as I understand it I have created the templates correctly. They are in my template section I have created with the little templat icon but when i go to use them it will not let me and it says they are not there. (even though the screen says they are).

Someone has suggested thaty you have to have your template set to public and not private (for you only) and soimeone else suggested that my shop has to be Live first.

Has anyone else had thisa issue as I am a little confused.

But having no joy using them.

Either there is a weird bug or I am doing something stupid. Can anyonew offer any suggestions please. (preferably not the your stupid option).

You will need to post a link that someone who is not logged in as you can see. If you don't know how to do that I recommend contacting support. They can make sure that your shop is properly open to the public and that the product line holding the templates is also visible to the public. And they can explain how to properly find and publish your links.

Hi Dogplay,

Have opened it so hopefully you can see so far.

www.zazzle.com/kayakcapers

At the moment I am having to do a use all images and then delete the ones I do not want.

I have about 160 images in all so hopefully can get the templates working otherwise I am stuck back to the old way of doing things. This is why I have only made the first 8 sections at the moment.

Any comments on the shop as well would be gratefully appreciated. I want to get rid of the mass products thing at the bottom under the sections and just have a few featured products so that will be the next thing to do as well.

At the moment I have an example of man woman girl/boy baby t-shirt, but if I understand this correctly I can cut this down to one image and allow the public to use the customise it and pick a different shirt option to get to the other t-shirt styles.

zalle offer to phone me till they realised I was in the uk and then said I had to phone them but I would prefer to sort everything out via email (as phone calls to the US are a little expensive).

All the best

If you try to use quick create now you should not get an error that there are no templates. You do have templates. You don't have matching templates. So whether you can create two or only one product using quick create depends on which of the template fields the quick create wizard finds.

The way quick create works is by looking in the folder for any product with template fields. When it finds one THAT is the basis for image replacement. So if the product it finds has a field called Image1 then quick create presents you with that field to replace. It won't replace fields with different names.

The easiest way to get started with bulk creating using templates is create a folder for just one set of template where every product in the set will use the same image. Then start with the zazzle provided quick create set. Add your placeholder image, tweak the products to get them the way you want. Take a good close look at the mug as you will see that it has two identical panels each with the same field names. You don't have to keep it that way but it is a clue to how the whole system works. The tie is also a good clue. When you get to the end choose to save the set for use in quick create and put it in your newly created folder. If you want a different set create a different folder.

These earlier posts may help.

It takes quite a while for newly created templates to become recognizd and they have to go through that same long delay if you move them. So patience. I don't know what the time range is for templates to become active and available to quick create but it is typically hours (2+)
Spend some time looking at the various products in my templates folder I showed you earlier, it may help you get an understanding of how it works.

I recon there must have been a bug as min took just under a week.

Thank you for your help. It is greatly appreciated.

For this like Skateboards do you have to load them on at a time as they do not seem to be in the pop up for the items list in quick create.

Quick create is just a collection of different products that all have the same template fields. You can add any product to your own quick create collection just by following shops tutorial for creating templates, making sure your field names are exactly the same as what is already in the collection, and saving the product with the rest of the collection. So assuming skateboards accept templates they can be added to your quick create collection.
