Ok, I've started doing a little research to figure out how to put a store on Facebook. When I searched the forums for "merch store on Facebook" pretty much everything that comes up is talking only about how the app doesn't work. When I go this link about it: http://blog.zazzle.com/2007/11/15/create-a-merch-store-on-facebook/ and then click on the link to go to Facebook I end up on a blank page. How do I put a Zazzle store on FB?

My understanding is that it is discontinued and Zazzle has a thread on how to put up a page on Facebook: http://forum.zazzle.com/news/facebook_pages_tutorial_apr_4_2012I just started one, but it seems like a Hercules task to get it A: look good and B: drive traffic to it ... Best of luck!

Anne, I know what you mean. I started it last weekend... so I'm probably impatient. Other Zazzlers have been great and kind in stopping by. But how to drive outside traffic to it... that's the question. We need Zazzle to do a follow up and help us out.

Hi ZapTime, We completely understand you hence we made the store be very viral , For example if you have 10 fans (1) Whenever each fan/customer visits your store and views a product on sale, we post it to their timeline so that their friends would know about it (2) Apart from the above - We have let users click on "want" "like" "love" on products they view , Each action posts on their timeline
Net of it is - If one of your fans has 500 friends ( not a bad number since most of us have 100 plus friends), half of them view it -that's 250 new visitors for your store. Now Imagine, friends of those 250 coming into picture( since we post the message about the product on those 250 users timeline)- This is called viral effect and that's what we provide for every product in your store (we added this feature only couple of day ago)
Have your friends and family view products on sale and notice the viral effect. Please note that when a store is viewed as a Fanpage owner and not as individual user- None of the viral actions work.
Cheers, swag.io team

How do I put a Zazzle store on FB? I've found that my personal fb account is the best place to do my marketing. I have amassed over 600 "friends" who see what I post, or I should say may see what I post. I post the same stuff on G+ and a miniaturized version on Twitter. I have an fb page and I post to it fairly often. However, I don't see that it draws fb-ers to it. Rather, I ask people to like it, since I've liked their pages, and they generally do. I doubt, however, that they go back to my page. But hopefully they get a generally good impression of me and my artwork and learn that I have shops and studios. I add these people to my fb friends, when I can. I don't see that having a "store" on your fb page is much of a help. True, if fb-ers "like" or "want" your individual products, it will show up in their timelines, at least briefly. But if they like your fb page, it also shows up in their timelines. How often do we actually look at other people's timelines? Just when we're initiating contact. After that, we interact through the newsfeed. Which brings me back to the benefits of using your personal fb account to market your shops, because the personal newsfeed is where fb-ers are focused. Some good advice I've followed is not to bombard your fb friends with marketing posts. Instead, share interesting news, tips, newly discovered sites, and other info that you think might be of interest, as well as the products you have for sale. In that way, you build up fb relationships that are valuable on many levels. Cheers, Marian

Small correction to my earlier statement By stating "posting to Timeline" - i meant posting to timeline plus posting to their news feed plus ticker feed Just posting to timeline is completely useless as Marian indicated. In a nutshell - Our viral actions are posted to news feed , please check out a live store at http://www.facebook.com/GoogieHeaven/app_282723205097490 and see how it works Cheers, swag.io team

even better than merch store on facebook, I can put store builder on facebook. You can put a tab for each section. Then you can earn the extra referral as well. Check out my new page completely decked out with storebuilder apps. I have done about 200 pages for folks and they work great, auto updating. https://www.facebook.com/floralgiftsandmore If you are interested you can contact me via the custom fanpage website I have going at http://bloomingvinedesign.com/customfanpages.html

Swag.io I've tried to install your store several times. At one point I had three installations active at the same time, but it never actually works on my page. Usually I get the "please wait while it's configuring, etc." message and it sits there until eternity and never finishes. A couple of time it finished, and the store looks really nice there on your app page where I configured it, but it never actually shows up anywhere I can find on my page. It's a great idea. I don't know how effective it would be for driving business, but I'd like to try, but I never get past your page. (Hmmm . . . that could be a clever insidious plot on your part . . . ?! . . . just kidding ;-) Anyway, I also can't find a way to contact you via Facebook for help, so I end up giving up for a few weeks each time before trying again. Is this happening to anyone else? Any suggestions? Thanks.

I too am finding confusion with the app. I can find no way to edit the existing shop on my page. I go to MANAGE and there is nothing available to allow my to change the Featured products or utilize the newer enhancements.
Very confusing ...

Hi Marian, Good question!,Facebook introduced a new function called "open Graph actions" What it entails is
(1) Till 2012, We used to have standard actions in facebook like "share" "like" when those actions were done by users , appropriate things were posted in news feed, ticker feed
(2) By new "open Graph actions" each application can create actions similar to "share" "like" and post them on Facebook when the actions are invoked by the applications users. The actions get posted on Timeline, News feed and Ticker feed. We also introduced mobile views for the actions so that they can be viewed from mobile devices (half of facebook users use mobile devices)
For example - A video site can post action "view" when its users views a video "User yyy is viewing video zzz". A news application/website can post an action called "read" when its user is reading an article "user yyy is reading article zzz"
We got permissions from Facebook for following actions "love" "want" "check out" .
When a user views a product we post on his feed, "User yyy has checked out a product yyy" and a link to the product
When a user clicks love on a product we post on his feed , "User yyy loved a product yyy" and a link to the product
We are very open to adding more actions based on feedback. For every action we demonstrate to facebook that we do not spam users and we post only based on user action before getting their approval.
Majority of sites like Pintrest..etc, have used the above actions to grow virally
Cheers, swag.io team

Cheers, swag.io team Wow, I wish I were web-savvy enough to understand all that. Is there a setting that makes all this stuff happen, or does it happen automatically? If automatically, that might make sense of fb's reporting how many people are "talking about you," which is something I never understood. Cheers, Marian

Hi Marian, For viral actions like "love " "want" "Check out" "read" - Each application goes through a rigid Facebook approval process (similar to what apple does with Iphone applications). Once a user starts using those approved applications , it is automatic. For the first set of approvals Facebook took a week to approve us:-) Regarding your question about "People talking about this" which you see on your FanPage This is the number of people who have created a story from your post. Stories include: Sharing, liking, or commenting on your post Answering a question Responding to an event In a nutshell - it shows FanPage owners what posts are getting viral or what posts there fans like:-) Hopefully i answered your question Cheers, www.swag.io team (Makers of the swagstation Facebook app to import Zazzle stores on Facebook)
