I added cross links between my CustomGameShirts and CustomGameDecks galleries by creating a redirect HTML page on my site that I point to. It redirects to the proper gallery with the zbar turned on for each. Here's what the code looks like for this redirect page:

Quote:

<html>
<head>
<meta http-equiv="refresh" content="1;url=http://www.zazzle.com/customgamedecks?rf=238199854358890102&zbar=true">
<title>Loading CustomGameDecks...</title>
</head>
<body style="background-color:#000;">
</body>
</html>

Then I simply create a link in my gallery description that points to this page, which is on my site, and it redirects back to the other gallery with the right referral ID and zbar! Check it out by visiting my gallery and clicking that link in my gallery description.

thanks for the idea... it works on the links going within one gallery, but it doesn't work when I try to link to another gallery

Zazzle - please check my gallery and let me know how I can link to my sections for holidays, sports, etc... without getting the search bar

I think your problem is that you are just adding &zbar=true to the end or a URL make a link that looks like this

http://www.zazzle.com/tshirtfun*/&zbar=true

Unfortunately, this not what web-links usually look like. Normally, the first "&" in a link must be a question mark ("?"). So a correctly formatted URL would look like this.

http://www.zazzle.com/tshirtfun*/?zbar=true

The ?/& thing is really hard for people to get used to because it was clearly intended to make things easier for computers and computer programmers not users. I'm sure that you are not the only person with this problem.

I tried it with the ? and it still doesn't work. It only works from an outside site right now, and that's not cool for those of us who have connected galleries.

Wow, that's cool that you got that to work for you. It's great as long as people have an outside site they can work with, some templates don't allow html. I have a couple like that. Also, it's a bit too much code to put in the gallery description if we have a lot to link. I don't think it will accept all of that for the links I need. I've had my stuff disappear before due to too much html.

There has to be a way for Zazzle to figure this out for us. It shouldn't have to be this difficult.

Well, if you don't have your own site, why not use a free service, like tinyurl, to create a link that redirects you? That should work, and it's free and easy.

Stay away from tinyurl, it turns up as spyware in Zone Alarms!

as far as lost sales from the weirdness with the links. if you're using the zazzle star type it never comes uop for me unless I write it thus:
https://www.zazzle.com/ufoundfun*

Most of us cannot write code. The zbar isn't a good solution even for those who can. Get rid of the search bar!

I'm not sure it really "plugs" anything given that the link to the Zazzle homepage is there, but I do like the look :-)

I'm trying to figure this Zbar thing out like lots of others.
Am I correct in assuming that when I add a link to my store through an outside site like my blog using the star at the end of my store name that I will see a bar at the top that will NOT contain a search box?
Just Zazzle on the left and then sign in / cart/ my zazzle/ and help on the right? I thought it always looked like that?
It looks like that no matter what link I use...even through an email...even if I type it in my browser. Yet when I go to other peoples gallery I see the search bar at the top!
What do all these enable zbar links mean?
Ahhhhh! Help!!

zbar does not work!

How much clearer can we make it, Zazzle?
Does the burden of proof have to fall on us every time? When am I supposed to get any actual work done if I am constantly double-checking to see that my links are working properly from day to day. The zbar is not our invention. We can't fix it from our end. Am I supposed to start every morning by getting up and checking whether or not the zbar has decided to magically work that specific day?

and yes I have already e-mailed support but I am still awaiting a solution to a month-old embroidery image display problem.

First of all let me just say OMG!LOL
I've read, and read up on the zbar thingy along with other promotional tools and I've decided I'm not the smartest tool in the shed

Quick question, if I want to promote someone elses product and put it on my page how do I do this. When I link it and then go back and look, all I see is there ID number in it and not mine. As for Zbar still trying to figure that one out as well, maybe something will spark Idea

Thanks for adding the zbar option ot tool to improve shop look. But as most say, more improvement can be done as there are still some bits of loopholes in some usage of it.

There's an error in this url: http://www.zazzle.com/tshirtfun*/?zbar=true

It should be: http://www.zazzle.com/tshirtfun?zbar=true
or just: http://www.zazzle.com/tshirtfun*

By using the * AND the ?zbar=true statement in the same link, you're asking for the zBar twice!

I also found a problem with the referral link format.

I tried this format to use the zBar and a referral ID:

http://www.zazzle.com/yourGalleryName*?rf=yourReferralId

After ordering a shirt through another gallery (and not my own) and checking my earnings, I found out that I didn't earn a referral commission using this format!

Then I tried another approach to display the zBar and use a referral ID:

http://www.zazzle.com/yourGalleryName?rf=yourReferralId&zbar=true

This time it worked! I ordered a shirt from my own gallery and another gallery, and I earned a commission on these orders.

Make sure you test your links. If they don't work properly, you could be losing commissions!

I don't get it.
I see I have a search bar on my pages now and it has a scroll down feature that goes to all sorts of pages that do not exist as I have not created images for all the products that Zazzle has.
Also I have organized my store already per product as I do not see that I want every design on every product, so it is pretty pointless to have yet another way to browse the products.
Also if you put this standard in every store, can you not allow it to only go to products that actually exist?

And is there a way to explain all this stuff about links and such for people without knowledge of programming?
Thanks.
