Is anyone else having working Google Base feeds now failing?

emailed ZAZZLE and received a form message that their tech support would be investigating.

Do you schedule your feed updates for Daily or Weekly?

Please go here for information on the Google Feeds
http://forum.zazzle.com/tools

They are limited to 100 items per feed.
You can read the posts in the Tools section for more instructions.

I tried last night for the 1st time to load a goggle feed. Went through the steps saved my file wihtout problems and sent it to goggle. Got a notice a half hour later that the feed failed. I had saved in .txt which goggle says is accepted. Don't have any kind of html or other coding in my items description or tags. So don't have a clue what was wrong.

ALthough I have heard some being accepted with uploading text files unedited, the files that is made is an .xml file. Try saving it as an xml and see if it works.

Haven't seen anyone else mention this but the only time I've had my feed fail was when the update was scheduled during a day that the Zazzle website/server seemed very buggy and very, very slow. I changed my schedule to update the next day and everything has been fine since. I didn't change anything on my feed or on my products, so I know it wasn't anything that I did to cause it fail.

I had scheduled an update at 12am daily - and I too feel that it was a ZAZZLE feed server issue - have since changed the update time and all is well - thanks for the response.

I am trying to do my first google feed and it keeps failing. If anyone can offer some suggestions, it would be greatly appreciated. I followed the instructions for creating the file found on this forum and was able to create the file without any problems. I have saved it both as a txt and xml file and both have failed with the same main error "NO items are live." When you look at the more detailed errors I get things like id is too long, specify weight upc isbn mpn and even your website is not listed in the settings--I listed my zazzle website in the settings and when this did not work I tried just the main zazzle website -- nothing works. Any suggestions????
Thanks.
Kathy

Kathy - The last time I did it the way I describe below, my items were up very quickly. Hopefully the below will help you.

I have my set up - but not scheduled. I have decided to update once a month myself instead of letting the Google schedule do it.

Here is how I did it.

In Google Base Settings the Website URL is set up as
http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME

When I create a feed I do 10 of these:
http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME/feed?pg=1&ps=100&opensearch=1&ft=gb
http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME/feed?pg=2&ps=100&opensearch=1&ft=gb
http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME/feed?pg=3&ps=100&opensearch=1&ft=gb
and so on up to 10, always changing the page.
This creates 10 pages of 100 items each.
(Zazzle only lets you do 100 items each. Google only lets you have 10 feeds).

View each of the above pages on the Internet.
Right click the webpage - View Source - save it as a .xml file -
named for example design1.xml, design2.xml, design3.xml

In Google Base --- Data Feeds - New Data Feeds -
make sure you name it EXACTLY what the xml file is named
design1.xml, design2.xml, design3.xml

After you create the new data feed - go back and Edit it.
Un-click Autoselect.
Click XML

Go back to Data Feeds - Manuel Upload File.
And upload the EXACT same file name which you named it to begin with.

When you get "Success" that means it worked.
And these items will last for one month - unless you upload new data feeds before that.

This is how I have been doing it --- I hope it works for you !

Hi Donna,
Thank you so much for these wonderful detailed instructions. I think it worked because I got SUCCESS! I really appreciate your taking the time to write this all down for those of us who have never done this before. It made it very easy. Much success to you and thanks again.

Since this weekend I've been having an issue with my rss feed which is causing my weekly google base update to fail.

basicly...

http://feed.zazzle.com/seonaidh/feed?ps=100&pg=1&ft=gb

and

http://feed.zazzle.com/seonaidh/feed?ps=100&pg=2&ft=gb

are failing

whereas

http://feed.zazzle.com/seonaidh/feed?ps=100&pg=3&ft=gb

updates just fine.

When I check the URL's in my browser the first two result in a "request error" While the third page loads just fine.

I've been using these URL's to update my google base feed for something like 3-4 weeks. They were all working perfectly just a week ago.

I've noted that if i drop the "&ft=gb" parameter the feeds will display in the browser... but the output is incorrectly formatted for google base.

Is anyone else experiencing this kind of problem?

seonaidh, I'm experiencing a similar problem since around last Thursday.

I'm using the ZStore.php example which worked fine until about last Thursday. Now, the feed called from the ZStore.php results in an error.

The feed URL is :

http://feed.zazzle.com/featuro/feed?st=date_created&at=238551772058613933&isz=210&bg=FFFFFF&src=zstore&pg=1&cg=196136646246071102&ft=gb&ps=80&opensearch=true&qs=&pt=

If I remove the parameter &ft=gb, it returns some results (same as http://feed.zazzle.com/featuro/feed) but not functional in the php code:

http://feed.zazzle.com/featuro/feed?st=date_created&at=238551772058613933&isz=210&bg=FFFFFF&src=zstore&pg=1&cg=196136646246071102&ps=80&opensearch=true&qs=&pt=

My store is thus unusable.

I've contacted Support by email (got an automated response then told to email Dev support) and phone (said they would contact me), but haven't heard from them.

Any hope of getting this fixed?

Thanks Roses

Log on to Google Base and change the auto-update time. I believe the default is 12am.

Data feeds / (Uploads) / Schedule - edit

Hourray! Grin Everything works again!

Why? Who knows? Nothing changed on my side.

Let's hope Zazzle feeds are stable in the future.

Trying and Not successful.

When I enter

http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME/feed?pg=1&ps=100&opensearch=1&ft=gb
http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME/feed?pg=2&ps=100&opensearch=1&ft=gb
http://feed.zazzle.com/YOURSTORENAME/feed?pg=3&ps=100&opensearch=1&ft=gb

on my browser ( tried with different browsers) it takes me a feed page. It doesn't give the actual code.

You have to right click on it to view source and save it as an xml file.
