Analytics counting, just not sales

I have analytics enabled for a site. I see I sold four copies of one item this week-- some with US$, some with GBP! But Google Analytics report only shows two hits, and both from the US.

Is it just completely unreliable? Do I have to get some special kind of settings somewhere??

I think the explanation for that is that google analytics only counts visits to your store. So someone can find and purchase your product in the zazzle marketplace and never visit your store. That's been my best guess. I believe it's pretty accurate, but I can't say 100%. Perhaps some others with more experience and a longer history in the forums can weigh in definitively.

Congrats on the sales though!

I gave up Google Analytics some time ago. I don't believe that it's accurate. For instance, during one month, it was showing that the average time people were spending in two of my shops was 20 minutes for each shop. And I had no sales from those shops during that entire month. True, I sometimes "window shop" other people's shops, but not for 20 minutes.

I worried briefly that people might be in my shops copying my paintings, but I've never seen them show up in anyone else's shops. And that's something that is not worth worrying about. Either they are or they aren't. That's just the way the web is. You post at your own risk.

G Analytics was never in sync with the Z shop counter. I am not sure that the Z shop counter is accurate, either.

Also, quite a few people, including myself, are using Do Not Track. I have it as a Firefox browser addon. You won't get a count that includes anyone with Do Not Track installed.

And, really, the only thing that counts is sales, don't you think.

Cheers,
Marian
