umm - cool image, but I don't think you can use John Lennon's name or likeness.

KRW may have a point. Back in the late 80's early 90's we (screen print shop) printed some original John Lennon artwork which Yoko sold to a clothing manufacturer. We happened to be involved with screen printing for the cut and sew clothing operation. Everybody was animate about using the Lennon name, signature, etc. and it was a closely watched operation from start to finish. ALL of the images involved which included his signature, cartoon likeness, and illustrations were trademarked and copyrighted.

I do like your cartoon concept though ....

yup, am very aware of those points. in fact
my old roomie in nyc was a featured performer
on SNL in the early 80's and they did several
beatles parody skits. the key word here is
parody; not reproduction. this one is a parody,
has been up on our sites almost a decade; we've
mailed copies to yoko, and they are well aware
the difference between parody and reproduction.

It is that "gray area" we talked about in
the other threads. if i were pretending to be
someone representing the john lennon estate or
anything close to it, bingo, i'm censored and
rightly so.

but an obvious parody such as this one; has been
done numerous times in national lampoon, mad magazine,
and many many others.

we've got at least 15 beatles parody cartoons on
our site; not to mention stones (and even one
don mclean!! for goodness sakes)

That's great.

Has anyone seen the Cirque Du Soliel show, LOVE, in Vegas? It's a tribute to The Beatles. It's amazing!
