All right I am a broken record. We have tweaked the search to show up better than the videos on Youtube - a google site! As you can see Mousearte Spynbuy shows up before youtube!

Well - I am experienced in programming.
First you need video. Video fights are breaking out on the web between Livesearch google and yahoo. The race is on to make video an important key in searches. That means H tags + text + flv file + thumb pictures + word clouds. Video helps your ranking. The 2nd most important is link backs to the site your promoting. The more link backs the more hits to the links the better off you are.
The linking sites people usually use are all tagged by google as promotion machines and can make your rank go down. In the past - 3 years ago - they would make ranks go up....but google got wise and knew people were trying to game the system.
1 st rule = DO NOT USE THE LINKING SITES! Google kills them on search! It hurts....
2nd rule = Do a video and put it somewhere.....but make sure you put html link in the description
3rd rule = link the video into your website or store
4th rule = repeat the process......
So I spent 3 weeks re-programming our site to handle the latest SEO searches from google. YIKES not fun. I programmed to H tags. H1 H 2 H 3 ect. I set the H tags in the header and keyed the title of the video and descriptions to land in the H1 tag. Then I re programmed the description field to be H3 and set the tag clouds on the bottom of the site to H2.
The price field I moved to top in a field and left that as text to be read by google.
Then I created a sitemap as a xml file and have google searching the site 3 times a day deep inspection that is for SEO. I also have a second xml file that is just the video and thumb nail.
Our next step is to enable the thumb nail to show up on the search. Working on that....The secret is alot of work in reprogramming your site. If google runs your site and see no changes in the sitemap it might not run the search so your site gets stale...and the new sites bump over your site.....so we refresh every 3 hours.
In fact, our searches have out ranked internal google sites lately. The trick is 3 -5 keywords that run from generic to specific.
example 1967 Mustang for sale should be 1967 Red Mustang for sale better could be 1967 Red Mustang Fastback for sale
Zazzle users should do this example Great Shirt Designs for Sale Should be Skater T-S for Sale better could be Skater Girl Shirts For Sale skaters edge designed shirts....
Get more specific but not to specific....keep it

Very helpful post spynbuy, thanks for taking the time to give insights into this. spynbuy wrote:1 st rule = DO NOT USE THE LINKING SITES! Google kills them on search! It hurts.... What is meant by "linking sites"? Business directories? General web directories? Webrings? Topsite pages? Or something else? Just curious.

Linking sites are sites that have all a bunch of similar links. Google reads the url. Like if 500 sites and not much content all link to zazzle.com/????? Then that KILLS the search process. VIDEO ON SEARCH SPYNBUYhere is a video on how our search works.

This may seem like a dumb question, but...
I finally created my video. How do I upload it to SpynBuy?
It doesn't seem like I can upload directly from my computer... Never done this before, so please pardon my stupidity!
Thanks,
Debbie

That is awesome. Thank you so much! Uploading it now. I was stumped on the "LOCATION" field. I thought it was the location of my video! Duh!
Thank you so much. My video will be on it's way soon!!!
