I was wondering what you guys did to promote your shop? I have my zazzle on facebook, but I was wondering what else I could do? I just opened my shop a couple weeks ago and I still haven't sold anything. Could you give me some advice? Thanks I really appreciate it. Hope you guys have a great weekend! Smile

I have a webring at http://www.ringsurf.com/ring/nr316

You should also promote at Spynbuy http://www.spynbuy.com
There are oddles of lens at Squidoo...you can search this thread for them and also join some of the top 100 Zazzle sites depending on what you offer in your gallery

Be patient, it can take weeks/months before you make a sale and keep building your gallery, the more products and designs the better the chances of making that first sale.

One golden tip I have is if you have a theme / topic / specialty then set up a Google Alert for that topic. Then when anything new hits the web on that topic you can be on it straight away.

This only works if you have a specific specialty theme. Unless you don't mind Google overloading your inbox with generic alerts for everything under the sun...

Other than that my ultimate best tip might sound flippant but is actually the truth: Google your question.

Posting on this forum asking about online promotion and online marketing methods is OK and nets you a few responces. But if you google about the things you're asking, then Google scans every forum/blog/site in existence for you and ultimately you'd be posting your question to the world = huge responce!

There are alot of people out there posting about their marketing/promotion tricks and tips because it nets them some extra traffic (and is therefore in itself a marketing tool for themselves) from all the people looking for answers. So there's a wealth of resources on these topics out there.

I found out about Google Alerts and a vast amount of other things simply by Googling about what I wanted to know.

Just this second I just Googled "Google Alerts marketing" and in an instant I had my answer on the second result (and many other results I can view to get even more tips and tutorials on the subject):

Well, to me PODding is simply a numbers game. When I had 13 items, I would rarely make a sale. I have 500 products last week, and I have over 600 this week, and I am making a sale every few days. So that's my official advice: MOAR! Laughing

right pixel. all sales/merchandising/advertising is mostly
a numbers game. the more products, ads in the right places, etc are as impt if not more impt than talent.

i do a LOT of article marketing on all my stores and main
cartoon site; it is by far the most effective.

i blog when i can; not quite as effective but if i ping each
blog update through www.kping.com it makes a huge difference.

i do ppc advertising but not a lot since my profits per item are not so big. but i do a bit when i can.

i join webrings occasionally; but all in all, finding the
right ezines like ezinearticles.com and helium.com which have high rankings; give u quality backlinks to your site; plus, after a number of articles, you quickly rise to "expert" in your category.

ty to my assistant for listing two of my advertising sites .. and Incognitos tshirt listings Roses ... where would I be without you? Grin

It can take time to get a sale .. but like pixelgarden said .. the more products .. the better chance you will have what someone wants .. how many empty shops on the high streets sell a lot of merchandise? .. good luck with your store Grin

I think tabathacarr is already on the zazzlers listings .. so make sure you have a voting code somewhere so people can vote and you can rise up the listings .. also listings with banners are the ones that seem to be getting the most hits and sales Grin

Hi, thanks for your insight, this sounds interesting. I'm aware of article writing for sites but I'm just wondering what you write about?
I'm guessing probably not just a sales blurb about your shop, but stuff related to themes in your shop?
Thanks for the tip.

Thanks to everyone for the good advice. I think I may know what my problem is now. You see I offer nature/animal, rock, & teen clothing and accessories at my shop. I think I need to open up more than one gallery that way I can categorize the products: mousepads, t-shirts, etc. But I'm not sure how to open up more than one gallery. Any advice? Thanks.
