Hi,
Question: I upload images to create a product. Once I have successfully created the product, can I delete the images out of "My Images" without impacting the product that was created using those images?

Yup. Delete if you like. Upload again when Zazzle adds new products.

You could also just move your images into sets in case you wanted to use them again on new products or in case something gets deleted in error (I do that frequently). Once it's in a set you can delete it from your image page.

Hi,
Thanks for the info.
Moving images into sets doesn't work - because apparently zazzle will detect if I upload the same image with a different name and then just pull in the original image and ignore my new renamed image. This defeats my ability to be able to meaningfully sort the images in a set by name.

Sorry but the advice given by mousearte and PetAdoption appears to be wrong.
I have just been told by Zazzle tech support that if you do delete the images then no one will be able to order your product.
So, according to Zazzle, do NOT delete any image associated with a product that you are still selling.

I've deleted plenty of my images and they're still selling, perhaps the tech got images and products confused.

I'd say it's pretty hard to confuse the images with the product.
But then this wouldn't be the first time a customer support person had not themselves been supplied with the correct information and so as a consequence wound up spreading disinformation.

Customer support is looney. Send them a cup of coffee and tell them to wake up already. Yes, you can delete images from the image folders without affecting the products.
BTW - why bother uploading the same image. Why not just change its name instead? Go to the image set with the image, click on the image, change the name.

I have a slightly different question (but related).
I've uploaded several hundred images over the past few months. Now I want to organize them into sets.
I've created several sets, but I can't find any way to simply move my already-uploaded images into the sets. Do I have to upload them all again (but into the appropriate sets this time) to accomplish this?
I was hoping I could just move my images into the sets, not have to upload again. That would be a hassle.

All you need to do is check the images you want to move then choose 'add to' and select the set from the drop down, click 'add images to set'.

Just wanted to add, since I was doing this myself earlier tonight and realized it, that it doesn't really "move" the images to a set, but it copies them. So you still have to delete them from the main area after you "move" them. (Check to make sure they're in the set first to be safe.)
It will warn you that deleting them will also delete them from all sets, but that's not true. Try just one as a test if you're worried about it.
