The most common reason a design is rejected or a purchase canceled is due to copyright or trademark infringement. If a customer tries to order an item that would violate copyright or trademark law, Zazzle is required by law to deny the sale. Some designs that are not allowed due to copyright, trademark, or intellectual property law: *Images or names of celebrities--celebrities retain the rights to their own image. (Politicians are the exception to this rule) *Images of or references to copyrighted characters or concepts (such as Mickey Mouse, CSI, the Twilight series, etc) *Trademarked names, images, or phrases (The Coca Cola logo, the phrase "Just Do It", the word "Pepsi") *Any image that you do not have permission from the copyright owner to use. This includes photos found in image searches such as Google or Flickr. If you did not create the image or photo yourself, you must be able to verify that you a.) have permission from the copyright holder to reproduce the image, b.) that the image is in the public domain, or c.) that the image is old enough that the copyright has expired (laws vary on vintage graphics).
Yes, Zazzle can't sell you one even for your own private use if it infringes copyright etc.

Zazzle would be selling a product to you with the image on it, if you do not own the copyright to that image Zazzle would be breaking the law. If you own the copyright to the image, or it is out of copyright/public domain, or you have written permission from the creator of the image then that would be fine.

Thanks. I'm new, and this post answered my question -- about whether I can open a separate store for a different niche.

You had mentioned at the end how I can create niche stores to seperate my different items or niches and if the new store doesn't work I can always move the product and delete the new store. Well I just created new niche stores so I can seperate already posted items for sell. Now I can't figure out how to move my products to the new store. Is this a simple process or do I have to start all over with making the products in the new store? Your help is greatly appreciated!

You can't actually move them, but you can click customize on the product and post it for sale again making sure you select the new store, then either delete the old one if it's quite new, or if it's older, edit it to 'direct only' in the 'additional information' section so you don't break any referrer's links.

I have a question. I was wondering how you change the profile picture within the store? I updated my profile with an avatar character but for the life of me I can't get it to show up in my store. I have looked to try an find an option of changing the profile within the store but didn't see anything.
I just noticed that my image didn't show up here either.
Thank you
Plattooza

I read the intro post, and its really helpful, but I opened a shop http://www.zazzle.com/nafferart/gifts?cg=196198444202271614 yesterday, understandably my stuff wouldn't show there for about 24 hours even though its relatively 1 hour before common items are displayed. for whatever reason they still wont appear and I feel I have tried everything. If you have any other helpful tips please let me know

Thank you so much for your helpful explanations. I was confused about the meaning of Direct as opposed to Public and Private. So much to learn, and such a sad little brain to try to figure things out! LOL! Thank you again!

So if you open two store you will have two store and I think you need to name them with different names but really I don't understand. Why do we have to open lots of stores? or only one store is enough? or it means lots of artwork cannot be seen on one store so you need to open some more stores?

Many of us choose to open more than one store because of the type of items or designs.
I have one store that have only wedding items, and another store that has items such as birthday cards, posters, buttons/pins, t-shirts, etc., that are not related to weddings.
Someone else may have a store featuring only t-shirts, and another featuring only mugs.
Having more than one store can keep down a lot of clutter and make for a much neater place. I've seen stores where the owner tries to sell everything that Zazzle offers, and the list gets longer each day, and it takes forever to scroll down just to see the list. Many people do not want to shop within such clutter.
Yes, each store should have its own name and theme.

Hi, I'm "tiptoeing" into the forums to say hello. I wanted to thank Customizables for so many thoughtful, awesome, information-filled posts. I also am thinking that since I saw that "fractal art" is difficult to search in the search engines, I'll open another shop with my photography and link them together. Hopefully that way I'll be able to sell some fractals. I'm building my store and will continue to do so with all this great advice. Thanks!

Well, This answered all but the question I had. I did not copy the HTML for embedding in mail or website before I completed the product post. Now I can't find it. I hope I don't need to delete and re-post again. Do I?

Great list! Thank you. It answered a lot of my questions. I have just one more. What if we want to buy one of our own products? Is there any protocol for that?

So if my products get published and I get an email saying they are, but then I get to my store and they are not there, what do I do? I really don't understand zazzle, I have made twenty two products and four show up in my store. Three top pick and one as a new product (which was the first thing I made, so technically its not new anymore). I don't get it, I know there is a twenty-four hour period on things or even a forty-eight hour wait, but that has done been here and gone but no products showing up!!!!

Please look under Zazzle News and in other parts of the forum about the new grouping setup. Products appear to be missing, but are being grouped in a certain way for better marketplace placement. Some of you products may be listed "under" another if you click under it and see "see on ? products" or "see on ? styles". That's part of the new grouping feature. Lots and lots of topics on this. At times, there may be a glitch that causes products to show up a couple of days after posting, holidays slow things down, and postage stamps need to be approved by the USPS. It takes a lot of patience to be a part of POD site. In your store, I see one shirt and under it, the option to view over fifty shirts. I see one mug with the option to view seven. If it's a glitch, as we are experiencing at times, you'll just have to wait with everyone else.

Does Zazzle actual have a Help section. I have many questions I can't find an easy answer to. Like: Can I edit a store name? Can I edit a product name? Why doesn't my profile photo show up on my store page. Just shows the ghost pic. You forum folks are really great, but these are things that should be in a help file

You forum folks are really great, but these are things that should be in a help file Most of those questions have been asked and the answers can be found by searching the forums. At the bottom of every page within Zazzle (including the Forums) you will find a link to the HELP page. Yes, you can edit a store name. Click the Store tab within your account and go to Manage and then Settings. You can edit a products title by going to the product tab in your account, selecting the product, and clicking Edit. For your image to appear, go to your account, click the Store tab, look to the left column for ABOUT PAGE, and then click the Profile Picture link. That should make it appear on your page.
